
Overview of the Ceremony.
The population of 57 ancient Shan Tuyet tea trees in Ban On Sub-area, Moc Chau Farm Town was recognized as a Vietnamese Heritage Tree by the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment at the end of 2023. This ancient Shan Tuyet tea population is 100-200 years old. The trees have an average diameter of 25 - 40 cm and a height of 3 - 5 m. The ancient Shan Tuyet tea population is being managed by Moc Chau Red Flag Tea Joint Stock Company. This ancient tea population is identified as a source of mother trees for the development of the Shan tea area in the future.

Moc Chau District held a ceremony to announce the Vietnam Heritage Tree for the Complex of 57 ancient Shan Tuyet tea trees.
At the announcement ceremony, Moc Chau district committed to strictly protecting the population of 57 Shan Tuyet tea trees according to the regulations on protecting Vietnam Heritage trees and taking good care to preserve the precious genetic resources of the endemic Shan Tuyet tea variety on the Moc Chau plateau. Co Do Tea Joint Stock Company was assigned to research and develop a plan to exploit the value of the population of 57 Shan Tuyet tea trees and develop tea fields associated with tourism activities to promote the potential, advantages and economic efficiency of tea trees.
