On August 5, a representative of Thanh Vu Medic Bac Lieu General Hospital said that the boy was admitted to the hospital for outpatient examination due to weakness in the left side of his body, especially his left hand, which had almost completely lost its function.
According to information from the patient, two months before being hospitalized, while taking a bath in the afternoon, the patient suddenly became dizzy and was treated at a hospital in Can Tho with a diagnosis of acute cerebral infarction of unknown cause.
After treatment, the patient overcame the danger, but could not walk, so his family took him to Thanh Vu Hospital for rehabilitation on June 14. Doctors used laser acupuncture, acupressure massage combined with electrical stimulation and ultrasound therapy to impact acupuncture points and stimulate muscle groups, to restore muscle strength.

Currently, doctors here say that after 6 weeks of treatment, the boy has recovered nearly 80% of his motor function, can gently hold and walk.
According to doctors, there are two types of stroke: cerebral infarction and cerebral hemorrhage, of which the majority are cerebral infarction cases. Previously, stroke was considered a disease of the elderly.
However, in recent years, the disease has been showing a tendency to become younger, especially in children aged 12-13. Up to 80% of stroke patients do not have any warning symptoms. If stroke is not treated promptly, it will leave behind irreversible sequelae, severely affecting daily life and work, and even death.
From the above case, the doctor recommends that parents should regularly pay attention to their children's health. When they see unusual signs such as dizziness, severe headache, vomiting, lethargy, lack of flexibility as usual, convulsions, weakness in one arm or leg... they should take their children to see a doctor promptly.
