Ham Rong Primary School was established in August 1993. After more than 30 years of construction and development, from a school with many shortages, the school has gradually risen to affirm its position in the local primaryeducation system. From the initial simple classrooms, the school now has solid facilities, organizing full learning and training activities for students of all grades.
The school currently has 26 teachers and staff, of which 25 have university degrees; the Party cell has 22 members, which is the core force, maintaining the orientation of educational development. Mass organizations such as: Trade Union, Teachers' Union, Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers, Parents' Representative Board operate effectively, contributing to building a healthy learning environment, close to students.
The familiar image shows the dedication and sense of responsibility in the career of "cultivating people" in the remote areas with many difficulties, of Ham Rong Primary School.
Mr. Vu Van Tai, the school's principal, informed that the school's education quality is increasingly improving. Every year, 100% of students complete the primary school program; the number of students achieving excellent results in studying and training is constantly increasing. Many teachers participate in professional competitions, skills education and win prizes at the district and provincial levels. In particular, emulation movements such as "Good teaching - good learning", "Happy school, happy class" contribute to creating a dynamic competition in the whole school.
The school pays special attention to improving the quality of its staff. Professional training, organizing seminars, demonstration lectures, observing classes, and applying information technology in teaching are implemented systematically. Gradually innovating methods, shifting from "transmission teaching" to "competence-developing teaching" helps students be more proactive in receiving knowledge.
Exchange in group study hours, activities contribute to developing students' cooperation skills, thinking and self-learning spirit.
Not only focusing on cultural studies, the school also promotes extracurricular activities such as sports , arts, and life skills education. Thanks to that, students develop comprehensively in terms of intelligence, physical fitness, and personality. In particular, the coordination with parents, organizations, and local authorities to educate students in ethics and life skills creates consensus and cares for the younger generation.
Mr. Vu Van Tai added that in 2024, the school will conduct a self-assessment and request the Department of Education and Training to externally assess the quality of education according to Circular 17/2018/TT-BGDDT. The assessment results show that 27/27 criteria meet levels 1 and 2 (100%), 12/19 criteria meet level 3 (63.1%). Accordingly, on July 23, 2024, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1479/QD-UBND re-recognizing Ham Rong Primary School (Nam Can District) as meeting National standards level I (after 14 years of recognition).
In addition to the achieved results, Ham Rong Primary School still has some objective problems that need to be overcome soon, such as: the teaching staff is still fluctuating, some teachers are old, and there are limitations in updating and innovating methods. However, the biggest difficulty at present is the school's facilities.
Despite investment in repairs, many items such as classrooms, functional rooms, toilets, and school grounds still do not meet current standards. Teaching equipment such as projectors, smart boards, libraries, and IT teaching equipment are still lacking and inconsistent. Some items have deteriorated over time, affecting the teaching and learning process, especially in the frequent rainy and windy conditions in coastal areas.
Students read books in the school library.
To continue to promote the role, maintain and improve the quality of education, the school recommends that leaders at all levels consider investing in upgrading facilities, including building new or renovating classrooms, functional rooms, and student restrooms to ensure they meet national standards, especially in the context of implementing the 2018 General Education Program. Regarding modern teaching equipment, it is proposed to support additional technology equipment, learning software, and library books suitable for each grade to innovate more effective learning hours. Recruit additional teachers for specialized subjects that are lacking, helping the school synchronously implement the new general education program. Increase training courses, update modern teaching methods for teachers, especially older teachers, to help them keep up with the requirements of innovation.
"In the coming time, the school will identify key tasks: maintaining the quality of education, improving staff standards, improving facilities, and strengthening coordination between the school, family, and society. The goal by 2030 is for the school to strive to reach National Level 2 standards and become a model of education in the region," affirmed Mr. Vu Van Tai.
With the tradition of solidarity, aspiration to rise and determination to innovate, Ham Rong Primary School believes it will continue to reap more success, contributing to the sustainable development of education in the southernmost coastal region of the Fatherland./.
