Finding the beauty of life

Author Nguyen Hong Nhung was born in 1973, hometown Hung Yen province, member of Hanoi Photography Association, Ba Dinh Branch, active at Thang Long Photography Club.

For over a year now, with the encouragement of friends and family, she has been composing again. Although she has not been able to participate as consistently as she would have liked, photography has always been a source of encouragement, giving her more motivation to love life more, have more energy, actively practice, and improve her health to have enough strength to pursue long-distance composing trips.

Her job is stressful, so she chose photography to balance her life. With the view that "life is short, do what makes you happy", taking advantage of the time when she is not busy taking care of her grandchildren, she enjoys her pets, flowers, peacefully watching the gentle people around her, exercising to improve her health... feeling emotional before the peaceful scene in the countryside, with the image of bright red cotton flowers; being humorous in the moment of exposure...

Each creative trip is a memorable story, with some happy and some sad moments, but all bring an unforgettable feeling in the journey to find beauty in life. “The most memorable is the trip to a remote village, close to the border to photograph the Ha Nhi ethnic group of Lai Chau province, everything was difficult and lacking, but the passion for photography was always overflowing and urging”, Ms. Nguyen Hong Nhung shared.

Mainly taking pictures of natural landscapes and daily life, the work she is most proud of is "Happiness", which depicts two ethnic minority women with optimistic smiles, loving life, even though life in the highlands is still full of deprivation.

The photo series "The silent work of cadres and employees of the Presidential Palace Relic Site", Third Prize of the Beauty Contest of the President Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace in 2024, captures cadres and employees maintaining the work of maintaining and preserving Uncle Ho's artifacts: taking care of and preserving the landscape, environment, and gardens within the relic site, with all their dedication and responsibility...

Some other outstanding works include: "Red Dao People in Luc Yen", exhibition VN-25; "Women with football", exhibition of Women with Life Contest 2023; "Planting trees to develop mangrove forests in Hue", Third prize of the "Wetlands: Conservation and Development" Contest... and many award-winning works, selected for exhibition in many competitions.
