This is an open project with songs that are constantly updated and added in a new, youthful and creative way. The project is not only a test for young singers of the 8x generation with revolutionary music, but also spreads pride in national history and love for the country to the younger generation.

Bringing revolutionary music to young audiences
Opening the #VN1945 project are 7 songs, including 5 very famous and familiar songs to many generations of audiences: "Doan Ve Quoc Quan" (Phan Huynh Dieu), "Tieng pestle tren Soc Bom Bo" (Xuan Hong), "Love song" (Hoang Viet), "Noi dao xa" (The Song), "Bai ca Ho Chi Minh " (Ewan MacColl, Vietnamese lyrics by musician Phu An); along with two new songs composed by OPlus, "Nhung chien binh Lac Hong" and "Nguoi la anh sang". Of these, "Doan Ve Quoc Quan" is performed in a new and impressive a cappella style (singing without accompaniment) while still maintaining the same heroic spirit.
Before officially launching the project, the OPlus group introduced excerpts of some songs on digital platforms and social networks, immediately creating a strong viral effect. Many young audiences shared and expressed their love for the songs that "go with the years". Talking about choosing these 7 songs for the first launch, the OPlus group said that these were all songs that the group had the opportunity to perform at many events. Singer Quang Minh, leader of the OPlus group, shared that the songs were chosen randomly but still followed a consistent theme, from the period of resistance against France and America to peace and national reunification. The project, called #VN1945, aims at important historical events such as the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday, especially the 80th anniversary of National Day.
In this release, OPlus introduced two new songs composed by the group, including “Nhung chien binh Lac Hong” (composed by Pham Tung Linh) about revolutionary soldiers and “Nguoi la anh sang” (music by Pham Tung Lam, lyrics by Nguyen Quang Minh) about President Ho Chi Minh in a youthful and vibrant style. Singer Tung Lam, who wrote the music for the song “Nguoi la anh sang”, shared: Songs about Uncle Ho were composed by many musicians of the previous generation in a lyrical style. This time, the group performed the song in a strong pop-rock style. “Each generation has a different way of expressing music. We - the Gen Y generation - have inherited traditional music and the spirit of the new generation, so we want to express our love for the leader in a generous, vibrant but still soaring style” - Tung Lam expressed.
Spread love for the Fatherland
The connection of the #VN1945 project lies not only in the music, but also in the form of identification, which is based on the idea of a postage stamp - a symbol of the communication system at that time. Trang Phan, the person in charge of the project's image design, said that the design was inspired by handwritten letters during the resistance war. "Handwritten letters are an extremely important piece, weaving the spiritual strength of that time. It is the link between the front line and the rear, a place to send the feelings, thoughts, and aspirations for peace of the soldiers" - Trang Phan shared.
Speaking more about the group's image, singer Quang Minh said: "We decided to build the #VN1945 project as a time-traveling postal system, where each song is a "historical parcel", containing national memories and sending messages from the past to the present. When opening the album, it's like opening a letter from 1945 sent to today."
OPlus consists of 4 members of the 8x generation - a generation born in peace, growing up during the period of national innovation and the explosion of digital technology. Singer Quang Minh sincerely said: “The perception and attention of young people of our generation towards revolutionary music is decreasing. At times, we felt that this music genre was not for us. But when we were mature enough, had enough emotional depth and historical knowledge, we felt the great value in the notes and lyrics of revolutionary music. We are proud to inherit the musical values written from the history of the nation and clearly understand the responsibility to spread them to our generation”.
#VN1945 is a project with a starting point but no end point. OPlus will continue to extend and expand this project as a mission to spread not only to the audience but also to young artists and cultural workers. The project will not stop at the first 7 songs, but will continue to be added and updated. "We hope #VN1945 will become a connecting thread between the generation born during the war, the post-war period and today's Gen Z generation" - singer Nguyen Duc Tung, a member of the group shared.
According to the plan, OPlus will continue to perform revolutionary songs with the participation of many other singers. The songs will be performed in a new spirit, new rhythm and with the breath of the digital age, so that young people can feel the timeless value of revolutionary music without losing the identity of the songs.
