Resolutely resolve site clearance problems for key projects

In August 2024, Ba Don Town started construction of the Multi-purpose Gymnasium and auxiliary works of Ba Don Town. The project includes a 2-storey gymnasium with a construction area of ^{​​3,105m2} , a capacity of more than 1,700 seats, with a total investment capital of 75 billion VND. In addition, the project also has auxiliary works such as: Internal yard; external traffic roads, internal traffic roads; water supply, drainage, power supply systems and fire prevention and fighting systems.

Determining that this is not only a key project, but also creates an urban highlight for the town, so after the groundbreaking ceremony, the People's Committee of Ba Don Town requested the Management Board of the Town's Investment, Construction and Land Fund Development Project to strengthen the direction, management, and supervision of the progress and quality of the project, remove obstacles during the construction process, and be determined to complete the project on schedule. The goal is to complete the project and put it into use by the end of 2025. However, up to now, after more than 9 months of construction, the project has only completed more than 30% of the volume. A leader of the Management Board of the Investment, Construction and Land Fund Development Project of Ba Don Town said that the reason for the construction progress being about 10% behind schedule is due to technical adjustments to the foundation of the project. In the coming time, the unit will continue to urge the project implementation unit to organize construction outside of working hours, speed up the progress, and ensure the set plan.

Currently, Ba Don Town has many key projects and works passing through, such as: North-South Expressway Project, Eastern Phase 2021-2025; Component Project 1: Investment in construction of National Highway 12A, avoiding Ba Don Town; Coastal Road and Nhat Le Bridge 3 Project; Project to upgrade and expand a number of bridges and tunnels on National Highway 1A, which has not completed site clearance. In the coming time, the town will continue to direct localities and related units to focus on implementing compensation, support, and resettlement plans for affected households and promptly hand over the site to the construction unit. ..

According to the report, currently in Ba Don town, there are 11 key public investment projects being implemented, including 3 projects from the central budget, with a total investment of 330 billion VND; 8 medium-term public investment projects from the provincial budget, with a total investment of 340.5 billion VND. Of the 11 projects, there are 3 projects implemented in the period of 2026-2028, including: Quang Trung-Quang Thuy-Quang Son inter-commune road (phase 1); the road combined with embankment reinforcement in Quang Hai commune; anti-erosion embankment from Phu Lao garden in Long Trung village to Tien Phan village (Quang Tien commune). In particular, the infrastructure project of the routes connecting National Highway 12A from Quang Phong ward to Quang Long ward, connecting the traffic route to the center of Quang Trach district (phase 1) is still waiting for adjustment, extending the implementation time. The remaining projects and works have not been completed, mainly due to land acquisition and clearance problems, such as: Infrastructure project of the road from Quang Hai bridge connecting main roads through communes in the South of Ba Don town (phase 1), and the project to build the Sea Square.

Chairman of Ba Don Town People's Committee Dinh Thieu Son said that in the coming time, along with focusing on drastic direction and thoroughly resolving backlogs and obstacles in site clearance for key projects, the town requires construction units to speed up the implementation progress and disbursement of public investment capital for works and projects, especially key works and projects, capital sources under national target programs; at the same time, focus on removing difficulties and obstacles to quickly implement public investment projects on schedule. Any completed projects and works will be accepted and settled in accordance with regulations.
