Indonesia's Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries said three out of five Vietnamese companies have been licensed to breed lobsters in the country.

Citing Tempo Magazine on July 24, Director General of the Directorate General of Fisheries under the Indonesian Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Tb. Haeru Rahayu said that there are currently five Vietnamese companies (which have established limited liability companies in Indonesia) cooperating with Indonesian companies in raising and exporting lobster seeds. Of these, three companies have been verified and received lobster farming certificates from the Directorate General of Fisheries.

The remaining two companies are still in the process of re-submitting verification documents related to lobster farming activities.

Previously, Tempo Magazine reported that these five companies are Aquagreen Trading Company Limited, Phu Gia Long Trading Joint Stock Company, Ichika Joint Stock Company, Global Trading Company Limited and New World Seafood Import-Export Company Limited.

These companies have established five limited liability companies in Indonesia, namely PT Mutagreen Aquaculture International, PT Ratuworld Aquaculture International, PT Gajaya Aquaculture International, PT Idovin Aquaculture International and PT Idichi Aquaculture International, respectively.

The three companies that have been granted operating licenses are Mutagreen Aquaculture International, Ratuworld Aquaculture International and Gajaya Aquaculture International.

Mr. Haeru said that the determination of lobster seed quota is based on Decree No. 28/2024 of the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries and on the basis of lobster seed potential and the allowable catch quantity in each fisheries management area./.
