iPhone 17 launch helps solve basic users' concerns

Apple officially introduced the iPhone 17 model at an event that took place in the early morning of September 10 (Vietnam time), with the highlight being the 120 Hz screen after many years of waiting.

Despite offering some minor upgrades over its predecessor, the iPhone 16, the iPhone 17 is still enough to attract attention from users, especially those who are planning to upgrade from older iPhone models.

Small but interesting upgrades of iPhone 17

The iPhone 17 doesn't have many design changes compared to the iPhone 16, keeping the same vertical dual camera cluster. However, the screen has been upgraded to a 6.3-inch OLED panel with Ceramic Shield, larger than the 6.1-inch screen of the previous version. The overall size remains unchanged thanks to thinner bezels. In particular, the iPhone 17 becomes the first basic iPhone model equipped with ProMotion technology with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a maximum brightness of up to 3,000 nits.

In terms of color, the iPhone 17 offers users the color options of Lavender, Mist Blue and Sa ge, in addition to the two basic colors of White and Black . The phone is also equipped with IP68 water and dust resistance to help it work well in wet and dusty environments.

The rear camera setup remains the same dual-camera setup, but the selfie camera has been upgraded to 24 MP for sharper image quality for video calls and selfies. The new square sensor allows for shooting in a variety of compositions without rotating the device, along with an AI (artificial intelligence) feature that automatically widens the field of view, which is useful for group photos.

While Apple hasn’t revealed the exact battery capacity, the iPhone 17 is said to retain the same 3,600 mAh as the iPhone 16, which is enough for a full day of use. Thanks to ProMotion technology, video streaming time is improved by 8 hours. Charging is also faster, reaching 50% in just 20 minutes.

The product offers many slight upgrades compared to its predecessor.

Inside, the iPhone 17 is equipped with the latest A19 chip, which brings outstanding performance for new AI features. However, RAM is still only 8 GB instead of 12 GB as many people expected. Storage options include 256 GB and 512 GB.

The iPhone 17 comes with iOS 26 pre-installed, giving users access to many of Apple's AI tools like writing tools, transcript summaries, and photo cleanups. Visual Intelligence lets users search and take action directly from what they see, along with live translation to help break down language barriers.

Apple has committed to providing at least six years of OS updates and several years of security patches for the iPhone 17. Pricing and availability for the product line have not yet been announced by Apple.
