The iPhone Air completely ditches the physical SIM and switches to eSIM. This is considered a change in line with the minimalist, thin and light design trend. However, there are still many different opinions on how it affects users.
eSIM helps activate phone numbers faster, without worrying about losing the SIM, and also allows multiple numbers to be used on the same device. Removing the SIM slot also makes the device more compact and increases water resistance.
However, when the device has a problem, users cannot remove the SIM to temporarily use it on another device. Going on business trips or traveling to places that do not support eSIM can also be inconvenient.
