The competition aims to catch up with the rapid development trend and the potential for significant impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology on many different areas of society. This is also the first AI arena in Vietnam to use humanoid robots.
Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Tran Thi My Dieu, Principal of Van Lang University and Deputy General Director William Hieu Nguyen in charge of development strategy of IPPG Group, said that it is necessary to spread the spirit of love for science and technology and innovation to many people, especially students. Robo G 2024 is a modern competition playground where students can put their knowledge and skills into practice, and have the opportunity to access scientific and technological advances through AI Robotics teaching aids. The competition also aims to discover, nurture talents and select teams representing Vietnam to participate in the Robo G 2024 world finals.
UBTECH Education's AI Roboticseducation solution, exclusively distributed by IPPG Group in Vietnam since 2019, provides all students with learning opportunities to deeply explore Artificial Intelligence and Robot Technology.
Providing a variety of AI Robots from creative design models (uKit kits) to modular assembly models (UGOT kits) and especially complete humanoid AI Robots (AlphaMini, Yanshee, Cruzr), supporting many control programming methods from visual "drag and drop" languages to professional programming languages Python, C++, Arduino, Java on a variety of devices (computers, tablets/phones) and operating system platforms (Windows, MacOS, iOS, Android, web browsers) providing a comprehensive solution for advanced AI and Robotics education for K12 students and university students.
Accompanying UBTECH's AI Robotics teaching aids is a bilingual English-Vietnamese curriculum that includes many AI Robotics learning topics designed according to international standard frameworks such as NGSS, CSTA, AI4K12, focusing on sustainable development with creative pedagogical methods to inspire students' passion for exploring science, technology and developing their comprehensive abilities.
In the creative design preliminary round (online format), the competing teams in each group will submit documents (presentation videos, descriptive reports, implementation programs) introducing AI Robotics design model products for the Jury to evaluate professionally.
In the final round of task programming (held directly in Ho Chi Minh City), the teams in each group will compete to perform tasks directly on the sand table in increasing levels, corresponding to each topic to award national prizes; at the same time, select a list of teams representing Vietnam to participate in the world finals.
Participants are candidates studying in Vietnam within the prescribed age range. Specifically, Group A is for candidates aged 7-14, each team consists of 2 candidates and 1 instructor. Group B is for candidates aged 13-18, each team consists of 2 candidates and 1 instructor. Group C is for candidates aged 15-23, each team consists of 2-6 candidates and 1 instructor.
The special C++ table (the first AI arena in Vietnam, using humanoid robots) will be for contestants in the age group of 15 - 23, each team consists of 2 - 6 contestants and 1 instructor.
It is expected that more than 150 teams will participate in Robo G 2024, including public schools, private schools, and independent contestants registered by teachers to compete. According to the announcement of the Organizing Committee, the national competition ROBO G 2024 will be held from June 14, 2024 to August 25, 2024. The registration period (online) is from June 14, 2024 to June 30, 2024 on the official information page (landing page) of the Competition: RoboG.edu.vn.
Time for submitting contest documents and voting for the Preliminary Round (online) from July 1, 2024 to July 27, 2024. Time for announcing the results of the Preliminary Round is August 1, 2024. Time for the Final Round and award ceremony (in Ho Chi Minh City) is August 25, 2024.
In addition to the prizes of the Preliminary Round and the Final Round with a total value of more than 500 million VND, the teams with high scores in each group of the Final Round will be trained in international competition content to meet the requirements of the World ROBO G Competition 2024. In particular, each team with the highest results in each group (A, B, C/C++) after the international competition training test will be fully sponsored (travel and accommodation) for the international competition trip.
