On December 25, speaking at a graduation ceremony for Israeli pilots, Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi declared that Iran and its proxy forces must not carry out any more attacks on Israel.
"Iran and its proxies should know that whoever tries to undermine the stability and security of the State of Israel, the IDF will resolutely oppose them, ready to strike at any time and in any place," Herzi Halevi stressed.
On the same day, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said that about 3,800 Hezbollah fighters had been killed in fighting in Lebanon, including 2,762 killed in Israel's ground offensive in late September.
In addition, at least 44 Hezbollah fighters have been killed by the IDF since the ceasefire in Lebanon went into effect in late November. Most of Hezbollah's senior commanders have been killed, including leader Hassan Nasrallah. The IDF has destroyed about 70 percent of Hezbollah's strategic weapons, including long-range missiles, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-ship missiles; and about 75 percent of its short-range missile launchers.
According to the IDF's assessment, Hezbollah is currently unable to carry out any major attacks on Israel.
