Okmulgee Police Chief Joe Prentice said the victims had been shot one to three times in the head with a 9 mm handgun, after their bodies were found near a creek and in a heavily wooded area in rural Oklahoma.

The bodies were apparently moved there after they were murdered. The killer was Jesse McFadden, a 39-year-old convicted sex offender who committed suicide after the crime.
The bodies were discovered on the same day McFadden was due to appear in court on charges of soliciting nude photos from a teenager while in prison for rape.
Authorities have refused to disclose a motive for the shooting, but McFadden vowed not to return to prison in text messages to the teen.
According to screenshots of the messages, the killer said he was successful in his marketing business and “making a lot of money.” He said his “wonderful life” had been ruined by charges of solicitation and possession of child sexual abuse images.
Child molestation is punishable by up to 10 years in prison; possession of child pornography is punishable by up to 20 years in prison in the US.
Authorities began searching after Ivy Webster, 14, and Brittany Brewer, 16, were reported missing. Concerns grew when McFadden failed to show up for court hearings.
McFadden was sentenced to 20 years in 2003 for first-degree rape after raping a 17-year-old. He was released three years early, in part for good behavior, but faced charges in 2016 of using a contraband prison phone to solicit nude photos from a 16-year-old.
It remains unclear why McFadden was released despite facing new felony charges. Prosecutors had opposed early release, noting that McFadden had once tied up a 17-year-old girl’s hands and feet and raped her at knifepoint.
