Combining constructive and counter-strategic approaches in propaganda regarding Party building.

On the morning of June 26th, the Central Organizing Committee, in coordination with the Ministry of Information and Communications, held an online conference to provide training on Party building for leaders, reporters, and editors of news agencies and media outlets in 2024.

The topic of Party building is extremely appealing.

According to Phan Thăng An, Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee, since 2016, the Central Organizing Committee has chaired and coordinated with the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Information and Communications, the Vietnam Journalists Association , and central media agencies such as Nhan Dan Newspaper, Communist Magazine, and Vietnam Television to organize the National Journalism Award on Party Building (named the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award).

This journalism award, presented annually on the anniversary of the Party's founding on February 3rd, has attracted considerable attention from officials, reporters, editors of news agencies and media outlets, as well as from society as a whole, in writing and creating works about Party building.

To contribute to improving the quality of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award, over the past six years, the Central Organizing Committee has coordinated with the Ministry of Information and Communications to organize training courses on Party building for leaders, reporters, and editors of news agencies and media outlets. Each conference attracted nearly 2,000 participants.

"Thus, we can see the great appeal of writing about Party building, as well as the widespread impact of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award," said the Deputy Head of the Central Organization Department.

Improving the quality of journalistic works on Party building.

According to Mr. Phan Thang An, 2024 is the fourth year of implementing the resolutions of the 13th Central Committee, linked to achieving the goals of the 13th Party Congress Resolution and the resolutions of Party congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term.

This is also a year of active preparation for the Party congresses at all levels for the 2025-2030 term, leading up to the 14th National Congress of the Party.

Therefore, the work of building and rectifying the Party and the political system faces new and higher demands, requiring the effective implementation of the key tasks and solutions set forth by the 13th Party Congress and the Central Committee meetings.

In the context of the many difficulties and challenges currently arising, the Deputy Head of the Central Organization Department emphasized that protecting the Party's ideological foundation and combating and refuting the distorted arguments of hostile forces is a very necessary task.

This strengthens the people's trust and attachment to the Party, the State, and the socialist regime; actively combats individualism, prevents and combats corruption and negative phenomena, and prevents, repels, and strictly deals with cadres and Party members who have degenerated in terms of political ideology, morality, and lifestyle, as well as manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation"...

This conference aims to supplement knowledge, raise awareness, update new perspectives, and address important issues in Party building work in the areas of politics, ideology, ethics, organization, and personnel, contributing to the effective dissemination and implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the resolutions of Party congresses at all levels for the 2020-2025 term.

The conference also aimed to improve the skills of reporters and editors in selecting topics, gathering and processing information, and sharing experiences in creating works on Party building and the construction of the political system.

"We hope that, through these training conferences on Party building, journalists will gain more knowledge and information to improve the quality of their journalistic works on Party building," Mr. Phan Thăng An shared.

In it, he emphasized the development of the theory of Party building and the practical work of Party building, reflecting new models and innovative approaches in effectively implementing, studying, and understanding the Party's resolutions.

For example, it involves promptly promoting and publicizing the results and efforts to overcome difficulties and obstacles at the local and unit levels in order to continue streamlining the political system's organizational structure for effective and efficient operation; building a team of cadres who are both virtuous and talented, commensurate with the requirements of the tasks in the new situation; combating corruption, waste, negative practices, and the pursuit of positions and power; and preparing for the Party congress…

Based on this, media agencies should be more proactive and innovative in their information and propaganda work on Party building and the political system, combining construction and combating negative influences. In this, construction should be the fundamental long-term strategy, effectively implementing the motto "using positive forces to push back negative ones," and "using the good to eliminate the bad."

The Deputy Head of the Central Organizing Committee expressed his hope that the 9th Golden Hammer and Sickle Award – 2024 will receive more high-quality entries and outstanding journalistic works.

The conference will hear presentations on six topics:

- Deputy Minister of Information and Communications Nguyen Thanh Lam presented a thematic report on protecting the Party's ideological foundation and combating and dismantling harmful and toxic information on the internet.

- Former Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the Central Theoretical Council, Nguyen Viet Thong, presented a specialized report on "New Contents on Party Building and the Political System in the Resolutions of the 13th Central Committee Conference."

- Ms. Do Thi Thu Hang, Member of the Standing Committee and Head of the Professional Affairs Department of the Vietnam Journalists Association, presented a specialized report on "Some Issues Regarding the Creation of Political Commentary Journalistic Works".

- Ms. Nguyen Thu Ha, Deputy Director of the Center for Digital Content Production and Development, Vietnam Television, presented a specialized report on the topic of Creative Skills in Radio and Television Production.

- Ngo Minh Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of the Party Building Magazine, Central Organization Department, presented a thematic report on introducing creative journalistic works on Party building and the political system; new models, innovative and effective approaches in Party building work.

- Former Editor-in-Chief of Photography Magazine Pham Tien Dung and Head of the Party Building Department of Nhan Dan Newspaper Phan Phuong Quyen presented a specialized report on creative skills in photojournalism; sharing experiences in creating works from authors and groups of authors who won high prizes in the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award.

Ethical requirements regarding awareness and attitude establish the worldview and thinking of each cadre and Party member. Conversely, this foundation of thinking becomes the support for the actions of cadres and Party members in the face of issues arising from practice.
