Bac Kan - Ba Be Lake - Na Hang route : The road to the heritage land

The route connecting Bac Kan city to Quang Khe commune, Ba Be district, then connecting to Na Hang district, Tuyen Quang province is a key project of the province with a total investment of up to 3,717 billion VND. This is not only a strategic traffic axis but also a "golden lever" for developing inter-regional tourism in the Northeast.

The first days were difficult when opening each meter of road, having to open a path through old forests and rocky mountains.

Previously, the journey from Bac Kan to Ba Be Lake often took more than 2 hours due to the small, winding and degraded road. With the new route meeting the standard of grade III mountainous roads, the design speed is 40 - 60km/h, the travel time is reduced to less than 1 hour. Large intersections, modern bridge and culvert systems, standard traffic warnings... help ensure safety and convenience for vehicles, especially during the peak tourist season.

The 37 km long Bac Kan city - Ba Be lake route has been basically completed.

Most importantly, the route connecting Bac Kan city - Ba Be lake is completed and then continues to Na Hang, Tuyen Quang province, opening a direct connection between two national tourist areas: Ba Be lake and Na Hang - two green gems of the northern mountainous region. This connection is expected to form an inter-regional eco-tourism route, creating a strong spillover effect for local service, agricultural and cultural industries.

22 bridges on the Bac Kan city - Ba Be lake route are all designed to meet large loads.

Quang Khe - Khang Ninh route: An extension for green tourism

Acting as the “backbone” for the branch lines, the 17.7 km long Quang Khe - Khang Ninh route is an important auxiliary project, connecting directly from the main road to the center of Ba Be Lake tourist area. With a total investment of 439 billion VND, the route is designed to meet the grade IV mountainous standards, with a road surface of 5.5 m wide, ensuring convenient traffic for passenger cars, small trucks and tourist vehicles.

Quang Khe - Khang Ninh route helps to streamline traffic, reducing pressure on main axes.
and improve the quality of services to access key tourist attractions such as Pac Ngoi village, Ao Tien, Puong cave...

In fact, the completion of the route has created a strong motivation for investors inside and outside the province to pay more attention to the Ba Be Lake area. In recent times, there have been many proposals to build eco-resorts, tourism service complexes, and at the same time attract international tourists with a journey to experience indigenous culture combined with pristine nature.

Completing infrastructure around Ba Be Lake: Development goes hand in hand with conservation

Not only opening major roads or expanding connections, Bac Kan also pays special attention to developing transportation along with preserving landscapes, through the project of completing infrastructure in the area around Ba Be Lake - the heart of eco-tourism in the province.

With a total investment of 181 billion VND, the project focuses on upgrading 3 small but essential routes: Route DT254, section Km105+000 - Km112+600, route from DT254 to Coc Toc village and route Nam Mau - Quang Khe. The highlight of the project is the renovation of Pac Ngoi suspension bridge - a work of historical and cultural value into a modern steel girder bridge but still retains its traditional shape, creating a unique tourist highlight.

The harmonious design between function and landscape, the use of environmentally friendly materials, and the undergrounding of technical systems such as electricity, telecommunications, etc. are proof of a systematic and sustainable approach. This is not only a transportation service for development but also a step forward in the management and planning of eco-tourism space.

The upgraded traffic system around Ba Be Lake contributes to enhancing the value of Ba Be Lake tourist area.

Political determination and consensus of the people

To help the projects achieve the progress as today, one of the key factors is the site clearance work. During the implementation of the 3 key transport projects, the Party Committee, the Government and the People have been unanimous and determined to effectively remove the "bottleneck" of site clearance.

During the implementation of the projects, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Hoang Duy Chinh, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Dang Binh, Standing Committee of the People's Council, and leaders of the Provincial People's Committee regularly closely monitored and inspected the construction progress, directed relevant units to remove difficulties, speed up the construction progress, and ensure labor and traffic safety along the entire route.

Provincial People's Committee leaders regularly inspect and supervise the field at key traffic works of the province.

Director of the Provincial Traffic Construction Investment Project Management Board Nguyen Anh Tuan said that when the site was first handed over to contractors to construct the roads, there were certain problems such as the dumping of excess soil and rock by some contractors that did not perform well. However, the investor, along with the province's professional agencies and local authorities at all levels, coordinated to resolve the problem promptly. Thanks to that, the people and local authorities basically agreed, creating the best conditions for contractors to ensure the progress of the projects.

To ensure the progress of the projects, Bac Kan province has also taken "strong" measures to deal with delayed packages, resolutely replacing contractors if their capacity is not guaranteed, leading to delays in the committed progress; at the same time, 3 key traffic projects have been put under special supervision to monitor and supervise progress weekly.

Three projects - One consistent vision

Transportation is not just about roads but also about the economic and cultural lifeblood. Each kilometer of road opened is an opportunity for local people to develop. The success in implementing and completing on schedule 3 major transportation projects demonstrates the effective management and operation capacity and the decisive participation of the government, departments and localities.

These three projects not only create a breakthrough in infrastructure but also provide a solution to increase people's accessibility, while minimizing logistics costs in transporting agricultural and forestry products, promoting tourism and service development. More importantly, infrastructure connectivity helps reduce urbanization pressure in the provincial center, stimulates population distribution to rural areas, contributes to building sustainable new rural areas, and develops evenly in all regions of the province.

In the context of economic development associated with green tourism, environmental protection and sustainable development, Bac Kan is on the right track. Three new transport projects not only connect destinations but also connect people's hearts, will and expectations for a bright future for the northern mountainous region with great potential. With new roads, Bac Kan not only invites tourists to visit but also opens the door to comprehensive development - a real transformation from "potential" to "actual value"./.
