The area near the cable car tower, opposite the C4 Hotel , has suffered a landslide of the entire sea embankment and railing with a length of nearly 23m; the sidewalk and walking path area is about 85m2. Currently, the construction unit is arranging manpower, taking advantage of favorable weather to repair, fix, build a stone embankment, then proceed to pave the sidewalk and install railings to ensure safety.
Landslides and subsidence have also occurred in many locations from the foot of the cable car to near the foot of Bai Chay Bridge, opposite Bach Dang Hotel. Accordingly, the construction unit will have to repair the entire 90m of seawall, install 78m of railings and nearly 900m2 of sidewalks. The total estimated cost is about 2.3 billion VND.
Currently, the Ha Long City Investment and Construction Project Management Board is continuing to direct the contractor to increase human resources and machinery to complete the proposed plan. At the same time, it is arranging staff to strengthen supervision and ensure technical and aesthetic quality.
During the implementation process, there were many difficulties due to dependence on tides, but the unit will strive to complete the project in about 10 more days.
The early completion of repairs and overcoming the subsidence and landslides of the sea dyke and sidewalks at Bai Chay tourist area, Ha Long city, will contribute to improving and beautifying the appearance of the tourist city, meeting the travel and entertainment needs of people and tourists when entering the peak tourist season.
