On the occasion of 3 friends from the South visiting, Mr. Nguyen Duong (living in Hanoi) took the whole group to Ha Giang (Tuyen Quang) for 3 days to visit famous places.
At noon on November 14, 4 members of the group rode 2 motorbikes from Ha Giang ward to Quan Ba - Yen Minh - Lung Cu.

At around 2:15 p.m., Duong and his friends moved to the Tham Ma slope area - a famous slope on Highway 4C connecting Yen Minh and Dong Van. In front of the young man was a crowd of tourists, cars and motorbikes lined up on the road.

"Tourists stopped at Tham Ma slope to admire the scenery, causing the road to narrow and leading to traffic jams. We had to weave through motorbikes for nearly 15 minutes to get through this location. Car drivers had to move slowly, sometimes almost standing still," the male tourist shared.
Meanwhile, it took Mr. Thien (a tourist driver) 30 minutes to get through the traffic jam at Tham Ma slope.
He said that at 2:30 p.m., the traffic jam was about 1km long.
Afraid of affecting the customers’ schedule, Mr. Thien did not dare to wait too long. The young man decided to exert himself, pushing his motorbike along the ditch on the side of the road and luckily avoided the traffic jam.
"I was stuck in traffic twice on the way from Dong Van to Quan Ba at Can Ty and Tham Ma slopes. These areas have beautiful scenery so people stopped to take pictures and rest, causing traffic congestion," the male driver shared.
Having worked in the tourism industry in Ha Giang for many years, Mr. Thien said that November is always the peak tourist season because the buckwheat flowers are in full bloom and the weather is no longer rainy or flooded. Therefore, some roads are often congested.

For tourists traveling by car, waiting time through traffic jams lasting from 30 minutes to 1 hour affects the schedule.
Ms. Nhung and a group of 10 friends went on a weekend trip. Although she had expected a large number of visitors, this tourist did not expect to experience traffic jams at Quan Ba Heaven Gate and the Lonely Pine Tree.
"At the Quan Ba Heaven Gate area, workers poured rocks to repair the road surface after it was eroded by the rain and floods, so vehicles had to move slowly, leading to congestion. At Tham Ma slope, there were too many trucks carrying goods and tourists stopping, making it difficult for people to move," said a female tourist.

At 1 p.m., Ms. Nhung's group traveled by car from Yen Minh commune to the Meo King's Palace in Sa Phin commune. Due to traffic jams, the female tourist arrived at around 4:15 p.m., an hour longer than usual.
"The road is narrow, but some vehicles going in the opposite direction tried to encroach on the lane, causing difficulties for other vehicles. At the section of road near the lonely tree - an ancient ironwood tree over 250 years old growing on Highway 4C - the group's car had to stop for nearly 30 minutes before it could continue moving," she said.
Speaking with Dan Tri reporter, representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Tuyen Quang said that at this time there are many factors causing the number of tourists to increase suddenly.
"This is the time when the weather in Ha Giang, Yen Minh, Dong Van... is the most beautiful of the year, Lo Lo Chai village has just been honored by the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism) as "The best tourist village in the world in 2025", Dong Van Karst Plateau Geopark was awarded "Asia's leading cultural destination" by the World Tourism Awards, buckwheat flowers are in full bloom, the festival season... creates attraction for tourists", the representative said.
According to the representative, the Department is aware of traffic jams on some roads due to the large number of passengers.
"The traffic jam only occurred locally, and the authorities intervened promptly," said the representative.
To make the trip smooth, visitors should monitor the weather, calculate the route reasonably, and book rooms and restaurants in advance.
