Health check-ups and gifts to support people affected by storms and floods

On the morning of November 15, the Vietnam Young Physicians Association coordinated with the Ministry of Health, the Department of Health of Tuyen Quang province and the Young Physicians Association of Tuyen Quang province to organize a health consultation program and donate resources to support people affected by storms No. 10 and 11 in Ha Giang 2 ward and Ngoc Duong commune. The program was accompanied by the pharmacy system and FPT Long Chau Vaccination Center along with many sponsors.

More than 30 doctors, nurses and volunteers from central and local hospitals directly examined, consulted and distributed free medicine to nearly 1,000 people. Many cases of chronic diseases such as blood pressure, cardiovascular, bone and joint diseases... were detected in time and monitored. In particular, doctors shared methods of health care after floods, ways to prevent infectious diseases, skin diseases, and digestive diseases, which are common risks after storms and floods.

Along with the medical examination, the organizing committee presented 100 new sets of textbooks to Quang Trung Primary School; handed over a medicine cabinet to the Vi Xuyen Regional Medical Center, Quan Ba, Ha Giang City (old) worth 100 million VND; presented 1,000 essential gifts to families severely affected by the flood; and supported 3 tons of rice to people in Ngoc Duong commune to help people stabilize their lives soon.

The program’s resources are contributed by businesses, social organizations and philanthropists. This cooperation continues to spread the spirit of “Young doctors for community health”, demonstrating social responsibility and deep humanity towards areas still suffering from storms and floods.
