Newspapers and radio and television in Tuyen Quang won the C prize in the 2025 Journalism Award for promoting energy saving and efficiency.

On the afternoon of November 14th, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the Vietnam Journalists Association, held the Award Ceremony for Journalism on Promoting Energy Saving and Efficiency in 2025.

Attending the awards ceremony were: Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade; and Mr. Tran Trong Dung, Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association .

Comrade Mai Duc Thong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Tuyen Quang Newspaper and Radio and Television, and Chairman of the Provincial Journalists Association, attended the program.

At the awards ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hoang Long emphasized that 2025 marks an important step forward for Vietnam's energy sector when Law No. 77/2025/QH15 is passed by the National Assembly, supplementing regulations to promote the application of digital technology, renewable energy, circular economy models and green transformation, contributing to the realization of sustainable development goals.

According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Long, in the context of Vietnam aiming for net-zero emissions by 2050, energy saving and efficient energy use have become key, low-cost but highly effective solutions for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing competitiveness, and ensuring national energy security. In this process, the press plays a crucial role, acting as a bridge between policy and daily life, and inspiring the community to act together for a greener future.

The Journalism Award for Energy Saving and Efficiency has been held continuously since 2007, and this year marks the 14th edition. In 2025, the Organizing Committee received 477 entries, diverse in journalistic forms including print, online, radio, television, and video clips. The works vividly reflect the themes of energy saving in production, business, transportation, construction, and daily life, while also demonstrating the creativity, meticulousness, and dedication of the journalists.

The award, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade in coordination with the Vietnam Journalists Association, is part of the National Program on Energy Saving and Efficiency for the period 2019–2030 approved by the Prime Minister. This year's award attracted 477 entries from central and local press agencies.

Through a rigorous and objective judging process, the judging panel selected 40 outstanding works to award prizes, including 1 special prize, 4 A prizes, 10 B prizes, 10 C prizes, and 15 consolation prizes across the following categories: print media, online media, radio, television, and video clips.

Among them, the work "The story of saving electricity becoming a cultural feature in the highlands of Tuyen Quang" by authors Ly Thu and Bich Ngoc from Tuyen Quang Newspaper and Radio and Television was honored with the C prize.

Congratulating the award-winning authors and media organizations, Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Tran Trong Dung affirmed: “Today's results are a well-deserved recognition of the innovative and creative efforts of the journalistic community. The award will continue to be an important driving force, contributing to the strong spread of the spirit of energy saving – a sustainable value for the future development of the country.”
