
The Department of E-commerce and Digital Economy, Ministry of Industry and Trade officially launched Vietnam Online Shopping Day - Online Friday 2025, the biggest online shopping festival of the year.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Phan Thi Thang emphasized that product quality and online shopping safety are always the top concerns of consumers. Counterfeit and poor quality goods and intellectual property infringement remain challenges for both e-commerce and traditional commerce.
With the theme "Safety - Peace of mind - Happiness", Online Friday 2025 is organized to accompany digital platforms and sellers to improve responsibility, increase transparency, contribute to creating a trustworthy e-commerce environment, and protect consumer rights.

Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang said that this year, Online Friday 2025 focuses on the following main groups of activities: Improving e-commerce and digital technology experiences; building consumer trust; supporting businesses in digital transformation, promoting Vietnamese products; increasing incentives for shoppers through the Voucher Festival event, which brings together thousands of promotional programs from reputable platforms and brands.
One of the important highlights of this year's event is the Mega Livestream series "Safety - Peace of mind - Happiness". Accordingly, for the first time, the Organizing Committee held a large-scale Mega Live session, providing visual instructions on how to distinguish genuine and fake goods, smart and safe shopping skills, helping to raise awareness and increase consumer confidence when transacting in the digital environment.
With the goal of bringing the experience of "Happy shopping, happy shopping" and "Safety - Peace of mind - Happiness", Online Friday 2025 focuses on promoting, identifying and consuming reputable, quality, genuine products; strengthening tools to protect consumers against the risk of counterfeit goods, fake goods and commercial fraud.

In addition, digital platforms and partners will deploy a series of content-entertainment-shopping activities with youthful and dynamic colors, creating strong attraction and spread.
At the program, people and tourists can experience new technology spaces, livestream booths and digital solution display areas for safe shopping.
The event is also a bridge between businesses, e-commerce platforms, and influencers, helping to spread Vietnamese products from regional specialties, OCOP products to high-tech products.
Through practical incentives, the program also aims to promote electronic payments and strengthen the fight against counterfeit goods on e-commerce platforms.
Representative of TikTok Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Lam Thanh emphasized that TikTok Shop is determined to build and maintain an open and trustworthy shopping environment, where consumers not only enjoy a fun shopping experience but also feel secure in every decision.
"The platform aims to reach 1 billion views for content related to E-commerce Week 2025, and calls on creators and sellers to spread safe and transparent shopping information through the hashtags #AnTamVuiSam, #TuHaoHangViet and #OnlineFriday," said Mr. Thanh.

Mr. Phan Manh Ha, Director of External Relations of e-commerce platform Shopee, said that this platform uses artificial intelligence (AI) to suggest products that are more suitable to individual needs; at the same time, it enhances the identification of counterfeit products and coordinates the handling of violations, protecting consumer rights.
From the perspective of consumer goods and healthcare businesses, Ms. Ngo Ngoc Anh, Marketing Director of Sao Thai Duong Joint Stock Company, commented that Online Friday is an important channel to help strengthen digital trust for shoppers in the context of rapidly developing e-commerce but with risks of counterfeit goods, fake goods and brand exploitation.
