Song Cong II Industrial Park Project: Efforts to complete site clearance

The Song Cong II Industrial Park (IP) infrastructure construction and business investment project is one of the key projects of Thai Nguyen province. With its strategic location and synchronously planned infrastructure, the IP is expected to become an attractive destination for domestic and foreign investors. After the results achieved in phase 1, phase 2 of the project continues to play an important role, opening up new development space for the province.

After being handed over the clean site, the investor of Song Cong II Industrial Park Project accelerated the infrastructure construction progress.

Phase 2 of the project has a scale of nearly 300 hectares, including two areas: Area 1 in Bach Quang ward with about 176 hectares, Area 2 in Ba Xuyen ward with nearly 121 hectares.

Identifying the task of site clearance (GPMB) as the first step, right after completing the apparatus according to the two-level local government model, the People's Committee of Ba Xuyen ward focused on directing strongly. The local government mobilized forces to each household to grasp the thoughts and aspirations, promptly removed obstacles, and created consensus in the implementation process. This is also an important basis to help the locality maintain progress in the context of a large land acquisition area, a large number of affected households, and policies with many contents that need to be explained in detail.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phien's family in Ba Xuyen ward has a house and land within the project area. After being fully informed by the professional staff about the relevant policies and regimes, the family handed over the land to serve the project implementation. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phien, like many other households, hopes to be resettled soon to stabilize their lives.

During the implementation process, the leaders of Ba Xuyen Ward People's Committee regularly inspected and urged progress, held meetings to evaluate the work and assigned specific tasks to each department. The ward leaders also worked directly with the investor to remove difficulties in site clearance. This content was included in the Resolution of the Ward Party Congress, thereby mobilizing the participation of the entire political system, enhancing unity in implementing tasks.

The authorities pay compensation and support for land acquisition and clearance for households in the Song Cong II Industrial Park Project area.

Thanks to the synchronous implementation of solutions, Ba Xuyen ward has so far completed land clearance of nearly 121 hectares, with a total payment of about 600 billion VND. The whole ward has about 670 affected households, of which 165 households have to relocate. Resettlement areas are being completed, ensuring living conditions and creating a stable living environment for people after moving to new residences.

According to Mr. Ninh Vuong Thanh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Xuyen Ward, the above results were achieved thanks to the unified participation of the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the Ward, considering land acquisition as the key task of the project. Since the policy was issued, the locality has coordinated with functional agencies to propagate the compensation and support policies, the purpose of the project and the rights of the people. Thanks to that, the implementation process has always received the support of the majority of households whose land was recovered.

Up to now, the Provincial People's Committee has allocated land for the third phase to the project investor, Viglacera Thai Nguyen Joint Stock Company. The company is accelerating the progress of infrastructure construction and attracting secondary investors. When the infrastructure is completed, Song Cong II Industrial Park will create more room for industrial development, contributing positively to economic growth and attracting investment in the southern region of the province.
