The morning rain in Ho Chi Minh City did not dampen the excitement of the opening day at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai High School (Ho Chi Minh City). Unlike the nervous and bewildered children, the 12th graders had a bit of a wistful and nostalgic feeling in their last opening ceremony of their school years. Le Nguyen Hoai Anh (Class 12A11) arrived at school very early to prepare for the final opening ceremony of their school years. Hoai Anh emotionally shared: "Because it was the last opening ceremony, I prepared much more carefully and even registered to join the school's welcoming group. I want to have many memories today."

* The opening ceremony of the new school year will be held uniformly throughout Hanoi on the morning of September 5, 2023 with full solemn rituals and collective activities (culture, arts, sports, etc.). The Hanoi Department of Education and Training (DET) noted that the opening ceremony should be organized concisely, with students at the center; focusing on welcoming students at the beginning of the school year and truly becoming a school opening day for students.

As for preschool level, the opening ceremony will be organized in the form of "Children's Day to School" in a flexible and creative manner with content suitable for children's psychological characteristics. The maximum duration of the event is 60 minutes. After the opening ceremony, schools and educational institutions will organize activities at the beginning of the school year. Based on the actual situation, schools will proactively organize practical and meaningful activities, ensuring disease prevention and control according to regulations. Many leaders will not beat the drum or speak at the opening ceremony . On September 4, Mr. Tran Hoang Tuan, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ngai province, said that the provincial leaders will visit 16 schools, from the plains to remote areas on the opening day, but will not speak or beat the drum. The drumming and speaking will be done by teachers. Provincial leaders will present flowers and gifts to teachers or award scholarships to poor students who have overcome difficulties. Similarly, the Department of Education and Training in Da Nang directed schools to organize the opening ceremony of the new school year in the spirit of "brevity, without speeches by leaders at all levels".
