Da Nang Fireworks Team and the "Cultural Quintessence" light symphony
As the host team and also the “storyteller of light” who has been associated with the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) for 14 years, the Da Nang International Fireworks Team (Vietnam 1) once again takes on the responsibility of opening the 2025 festival season.
With the performance titled “Cultural Essence”, the team from Da Nang promises to bring an emotional work of art, as a warm and proud greeting to international friends on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the city’s liberation. The performance is elaborately staged, consisting of 4 parts, lasting more than 20 minutes, using thousands of fireworks programmed with high precision, synchronized every second with the music, creating a symphony of light and sound in the sky of the Han River.
The highlight of the team’s performance this year was the harmonious blend of traditional Vietnamese music and famous international songs. This combination not only expressed a deep love for the national culture but also conveyed an open spirit, ready to integrate and connect with the world , just like the image of a Vietnam firmly stepping into the “Era of Rising”.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang, captain of the Da Nang International Fireworks Team, shared: “With the melodies of music and the brilliant effects of fireworks, we wish to introduce to international friends the advanced culture, imbued with the national identity of Vietnam”. Going beyond the role of a competition team, the team from Da Nang is a symbol of the city’s spirit of innovation and integration. Each time it fires, it affirms the position of Da Nang, a city of festivals, peace, creativity and connection on the international tourism map.
DIFF 2024 Champion returns, bringing "aurora" to light up the sky of Da Nang
Meeting the host team on the opening night is the reigning DIFF 2024 champion, JoHo Pyro Professional Fireworks AB from Finland. Carrying the aura of a champion and the warm heart of the Aland Islands, the Finnish team presents the “Nordic Lights” performance, inspired by the magical aurora borealis phenomenon in Northern Europe. Through high-class pyrotechnic techniques, JoHo Pyro promises to lead the audience through many emotions, exploring events and memories associated with the Finnish people and culture.
With the music of Stormskärs Maja, the reigning champion will take viewers back to the ancient life of Finnish fishermen, living on offshore islands. A harsh but meaningful life when immersed in nature, truly reflecting the philosophy of symbiosis between humans and the natural environment in Nordic culture.
Audiences can look forward to “light magic” combining high-altitude fireworks display techniques and unique water cannon effects, a strength that helped Finland conquer the judges last season. Not only investing in technology, JoHo Pyro also made its mark with its very own musical taste, the team’s impressive, fiery rock and pop songs have become their trademark.
“This is more than just a show. This is a message of fire, a celebration of art, connection, and the beginning of a new era,” shared the fireworks team JoHo Pyro.
Coming from two continents, Asia and Europe, with two completely different cultural identities, the Da Nang fireworks team (Vietnam 1) and JoHo Pyro (Finland) share a strong passion for the art of light. Together, they will bring to the audience a spectacular opening night of DIFF 2025 “Cultural Essence”, starting the longest, most spectacular fireworks festival season and a new era full of aspirations for the city on the Han River.
Along with two spectacular fireworks displays, the opening night of DIFF 2025 also brought a grand artistic feast with the participation of leading Vietnamese artists such as singer Tung Duong, singer Kieu Anh, Nguyen Tran Trung Quan, Thu Hang, MC Anh Tuan, MC Luong Thuy Linh... In particular, DIFF 2025 applied augmented reality (AR) technology to the event for the first time. Through the Sun Paradise Land application, the audience can directly interact with Da Nang's typical cultural symbols in an expanded virtual reality space, spanning an area of up to 600,000m2 with about 10 million pixels, a unique technological experience never seen before at previous fireworks festivals.
Let's count down to the opening night of DIFF 2025.
The opening night of DIFF 2025 will take place on the evening of May 31 and will be broadcast live on VTV1 channel of Vietnam Radio and Television from 8:10 p.m. The event is organized by the People's Committee of Da Nang City with the support of Sun Group. The festival is also accompanied by sponsors such as Vietnam Airlines and Bizman Media (Diamond sponsor), Chicilon Media (media sponsor), Pacific Airlines, Hai Tran Media & Airs Group, Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV)... and many other prestigious brands.
