Opening of the 3rd Orchid Festival: The journey of "Multi-color train" connecting culture and trade

The Orchid Festival is one of the city's annual activities. This year, the event is even more special as it is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), and the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025). The event took place from May 16 to 20, attracting more than 200 participating units, including artisans, gardeners, and farms at home and abroad.

Inspired by the historic Reunification train in 1976, the exhibition space is designed as a journey across the North - South, connecting the past, present and future with the North - South train and Metro Grand Scene, the City of 50 Flower Seasons Grand Scene (representing the Southeast region, Ho Chi Minh City); the Green City - Future City Grand Scene. The unique miniatures recreate the cultures of many regions, notably the work "Vietnamese Soul" - which won the Silver Prize at the Taiwan International Orchid Exhibition (TIOS) in 2025.

On the opening day, many locals and tourists came to take photos and experience the activities at the event. The organizers said that the number of orchids displayed in the exhibition in the miniature landscapes of the categories was 39,000 products.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, emphasized that the Festival is not only a place to gather unique orchid species but also an opportunity for artisans to exchange, share experiences and expand trade cooperation opportunities. At the same time, he requested departments and branches to continue organizing specialized seminars, online sales instructions and product promotion on digital platforms, in order to expand domestic and foreign consumption markets.

Within the framework of the festival, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to 70 excellent orchid works, recognizing the creativity and dedication of the artisans, contributing to enhancing the value of Ho Chi Minh City orchid brand in the international market.

Ho Chi Minh City Orchid Festival 2025 is not only a unique cultural event but also a bridge to promote sustainable urban agriculture , contributing to bringing Vietnamese orchids to the world map.
