Attending and encouraging the tournament were many leaders of central and local agencies: Mr. Tran Chien Thang - President of the Vietnam Gymnastics Federation; Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai - Member of the City Party Committee, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hai Phong; Ms. Pham Thi To Trang - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports, Head of the Tournament Organizing Committee; Ms. Pham Thuy Linh - General Secretary and Vice President of the Vietnam Gymnastics Federation, Deputy Head of the Tournament Organizing Committee. Attending the opening ceremony were nearly 1,000 athletes participating in the tournament and many local people coming to watch and cheer for the tournament.
This is the first time Hai Phong city has hosted a national tournament on dance sports - a sport art combining technique, physical strength and delicate flexibility, which is increasingly developing strongly in the community. The tournament is an opportunity to evaluate professional level, train competitive spirit and discover young talents in this sport, and is also a useful playground to enhance exchange and learning between clubs, coaches and athletes across the country.
This year’s tournament brings together 48 dance clubs from provinces and cities across the country, with nearly 800 athletes competing in 59 events, including high-level performances that are both artistic and athletic. The tournament will award 90 sets of medals, honoring groups and individuals with outstanding achievements.
In her opening speech, Ms. Tran Thi Hoang Mai, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Hai Phong emphasized: “Through organizing this tournament, we hope to create favorable conditions for sports dance athletes nationwide to have the opportunity to compete, learn from each other, improve achievements and quality of the movement. At the same time, the tournament also aims to promote the movement of practicing and performing sports dance among the masses, contributing to improving physical strength, stature, health, spiritual and cultural life and disease prevention - towards the goal of building quality human resources for national development and international integration”.
The 2025 National Sports Dance Club Championship not only has high professional and artistic value, but is also an opportunity to promote the image, people and culture of Hai Phong - a dynamic and hospitable port city, increasingly affirming its position in sports, cultural activities and national and international exchanges.
The tournament takes place from June 5 to June 9 with a variety of rich and attractive content, promising to bring the audience eye-catching, professional and emotional performances.
