On the morning of October 13, the Vietnam Wrestling Federation, the Department of Culture , Sports and Tourism, and the People's Committee of Tam Dao district jointly organized the 2023 National Classical Wrestling and Freestyle Wrestling Championship. Attending the opening ceremony were representatives of the Department of Physical Training and Sports; Comrade Ly Duy Thanh, Chairman of the Vietnam Wrestling Federation ; Comrade Bui Hong Do, Director of the Department of Culture , Sports and Tourism, Head of the Organizing Committee of the tournament .

The tournament took place from October 10-20, attracting 19 participating units with more than 300 athletes from provinces, cities, and units including Vinh Phuc, Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Hai Duong, Ministry of Public Security, Army, Nam Dinh, Thai Binh, Ninh Binh , Ha Nam, Thanh Hoa, Phu Tho, Nghe An, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue and Dong Nai; in which , Vinh Phuc delegation has 11 athletes participating in the competition. The athletes will compete in events such as men's freestyle wrestling, women's freestyle wrestling, and classical wrestling in a knockout format. The tournament has a total of 33 sets of medals.

For the tournament to be successful, the Department of Culture , Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Vietnam Wrestling Federation and the People's Committee of Tam Dao district will ensure the best conditions for the tournament in terms of facilities, security and order, traffic safety and accommodation; training and competition for the tournament, with careful preparation, the athletes will compete to achieve the highest results.

The Department of Culture , Sports and Tourism requires the Organizing Committee and the referees to work seriously, ensuring fairness, honesty and accuracy; athletes compete with a spirit of solidarity, honesty, purity and nobility, in accordance with the laws, regulations and rules of the Organizing Committee of the tournament.
Immediately after the opening ceremony, the athletes entered the men's freestyle wrestling competition between the Ninh Binh and Army teams.
