The opening ceremony was solemnly held with a parade of national flags, Phu Dong Sports Festival flags, a palanquin with Uncle Ho's portrait, a red flag, a parade of 44 participating athlete delegations and a referee delegation.

At the opening ceremony, the sacred flame symbolizing the spirit of honest and noble sportsmanship was lit by Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Son on the torch stand of the 11th Provincial Sports Festival.

In his opening speech, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Viet Phuong affirmed: Phu Dong Sports Festival is a big sports festival for young students in Tuyen Quang province, a festival with exciting, dramatic but noble competitions, with the goal of " Faster, higher, further ", creating motivation for young students to practice virtue and talent.

The flame was carried by the province's outstanding athletes from the Ho Chi Minh Temple to light at the Opening Ceremony.

This is an opportunity to discover, train and foster sports talents for the province and the country, strengthen the spirit of solidarity and cohesion between localities in the province; contribute to promoting the movement of physical training and sports in educational institutions. At the same time, select outstanding athletes to participate in the regional and national HKPĐ in 2024.

For the HKPĐ to be a great success, the Head of the Steering Committee requested that the athletes make efforts and compete with all their might to achieve the highest results. The referees work impartially, objectively and accurately. The Steering Committee, the Organizing Committee and participating units promote a sense of responsibility, perform well their functions and tasks to ensure conditions for the athletes to develop their talents and achieve the highest results .

The 11th Provincial Sports Festival in 2024 took place from April 2 to April 5 with 44 delegations/2,000 athletes from 7 Departments of Education and Training of districts and cities, Tuyen Quang High School, 35 high schools and the Center for Vocational Education - Continuing Education of Son Duong district participating.

Athletes will compete in 7 sports (football, chess, badminton, athletics, pole pushing, vovinam, traditional martial arts). The competition will take place at Tan Trao University and the Youth Culture and Sports Center Gymnasium of the province.

The Provincial Sports Festival is the biggest sports festival for Tuyen Quang’s school youth and is held every four years to continue to maintain and promote the campaign “All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho”. Thereby, it helps improve health, stature, physical development, contributing to the implementation of comprehensive education goals and promoting the widespread development of school sports.

This is also an opportunity for the Education and Training sector to select elite athletes to participate in the National Sports Festival Region I and the 10th National Phu Dong Sports Festival in 2024.
