Former Vice President Truong My Hoa; Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Loc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Fatherland Front Committee, and other leaders received support for people affected by natural disasters caused by storm No. 10 from delegates and people.

Before the program, leaders and former leaders of the Central Government, Ho Chi Minh City, along with delegates and people in Con Dao special zone performed a ceremony to support people affected by natural disasters caused by storm No. 10.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Tran The Thuan, Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized Con Dao - a sacred island with immortal legends such as General Secretary Le Hong Phong, Patriot Nguyen An Ninh, Hero of the Armed Forces Vo Thi Sau, Leader Nguyen Van Cu, Hero Le Hong Phong, and thousands of revolutionary soldiers who bravely faced the enemy.

The program also included behind-the-scenes activities, with the support of the City's press agencies, in which the Lao Dong Newspaper presented the Con Dao special zone with the project "National flag street, Con Dao flower street", worth about 1 billion VND.

Interspersed with the opening ceremony was a special art program with the theme "Poems that shape the country" attracting the attention of local people.

The book fair takes place from October 3 to 5, chaired by the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, in coordination with the National Political Publishing House Truth, General Publishing House, Youth Publishing House, book publishers, Con Dao Special Zone authorities and Agribank participating in the program, and related units.

During the book fair, the organizing committee will carry out exchange programs, discussions on books, reading culture, and introduction of authors and works such as: author exchange, introduction of the work The Children of Saigon in the "hell on earth" Con Dao; introduction of the Nguyen An Ninh digital library - Southern Special Topics; activities to donate bookshelves and develop reading culture for organizations and units in Con Dao Special Zone...

The organizers also carried out a series of activities to spread "reading hours", activities for children, along with many attractive book promotions and discounts.
