Opening of the Exhibition Space "Ho Chi Minh City"

On September 24, the Exhibition Space with the theme “Ho Chi Minh City – City of Colorful Charms” was officially opened within the framework of the 2024 ASEAN-China Trade Fair and the China-ASEAN Trade and Investment Summit in Nanning Province, China.

The exhibition space with the theme “Ho Chi Minh City – City of Colorful Charms” has officially opened. This is a prominent activity within the framework of the 2024 China – ASEAN International Expo.

This exhibition space is implemented under the direction of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, jointly organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) and the Trade Promotion Agency (Ministry of Industry and Trade) from September 24 to 28, 2024.

Participating in this exhibition space, Chinese people and ASEAN friends will witness with their own eyes the images and messages of a harmonious flow of Ho Chi Minh City over more than 300 years of formation and development.

Here, visitors go through the history of formation and development of Ho Chi Minh City with the beauty of the landscape, people, culture, and economy of the city. This is also a proud introduction to Vietnam in general and Ho Chi Minh City in particular, beautiful, safe, rich in identity, and respectful of nature.

The Vietnamese booth at the exhibition attracted a large number of visitors.

Mr. Tran Phu Lu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Trade and Investment Promotion Center, said: The Ho Chi Minh City Exhibition Space is organized with 8 functional areas, including: Space to introduce the history of formation and development over 320 years of the place name "Saigon - Gia Dinh - Cho Lon - Ho Chi Minh City"; Space to introduce the achievements of socio-economic development of Ho Chi Minh City; Space to introduce information about the potential, strengths, business environment and policy mechanisms, characteristics to attract foreign direct investment of Ho Chi Minh City.

In particular, on this occasion, Ho Chi Minh City also introduced typical and unique export products of the city; Space to introduce and promote city tourism (destinations, unique tourist products of the city; Space to introduce diverse colors of art culture, culinary culture, lifestyle and people of the city; Space to introduce and promote Vietnamese Ao Dai and demonstrate hand-painting on silk, creating a charming Vietnamese Ao Dai; and Stage space to serve the performance of traditional Vietnamese music.

“ The combination of all the above Exhibition Spaces to express the desire to recreate the complete story of a Ho Chi Minh City with many charming colors along with the aspiration to integrate and develop into an economic, financial, service center and an attractive global destination” , Mr. Tran Phu Lu emphasized.

The highlight of the exhibition space is the performance area, displaying the collection of Vietnamese Ao Dai on Vietnamese silk by designer - artist Trung Dinh. This artist has spent 10 years of his youth researching, exploring, and creating the ombré dyeing technique and hand-painting on silk, contributing to the restoration of the silk industry as well as the Vietnamese silk painting line.

Coming to the exhibition space, people and tourists were introduced to the Collection inspired by the famous tourist attractions and architectural works of Ho Chi Minh City such as: Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, City Theater, Ho Chi Minh City Post Office, Saigon River, Landmark 81 architectural complex, Ben Thanh Market...

Right at the opening ceremony, the exhibition space of Ho Chi Minh City was honored to welcome Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc, Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Dinh Tiet Tuong and representatives of departments and branches of the two countries to visit.

It can be seen that, following the flow of history, the land of Saigon - Cho Lon - Gia Dinh, Ho Chi Minh City always carries within itself youthful and dynamic colors. This place also converges many cultural and social elements, where tradition and modernity meet, where historical heritage and modern urban development are harmoniously combined, where national and international cultures intersect, creating a living and working environment full of vitality and creativity.
