BTO - This morning (July 17), the 24th session of the 11th Provincial People's Council, term 2021-2026, opened at the Provincial Conference Center. Comrade Nguyen Hoai Anh - Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, Tieu Hong Phuc, presided over the session.
Attending the session were former provincial leaders from various periods, leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, departments, agencies, districts, towns, and cities, along with 43 out of 49 delegates of the 11th Provincial People's Council.
In his opening remarks at the session, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Hoai Anh emphasized that at this session, the Provincial People's Council will consider and decide on issues related to evaluating the implementation of socio -economic development tasks, ensuring national defense and security, and the activities of judicial agencies in the first six months of the year, as well as the direction and key tasks for the last six months of 2024. Accordingly, the leaders of the Provincial People's Council will carefully study the reports, focus on discussing and thoroughly evaluating the situation of task implementation, clarify the results achieved, and draw lessons from the process of leadership, direction, management, and implementation.
At the same time, it is necessary to frankly point out limitations, weaknesses, and their causes, including subjective causes in the implementation process. Simultaneously, accurate assessments and forecasts of the situation are needed, clearly identifying opportunities and advantages, as well as difficulties and challenges in the remaining months of 2024, in order to consider and decide on key tasks and solutions to achieve and surpass the targets and tasks set out in the plan.
The Provincial People's Council also discussed, considered, and adopted 18 resolutions on the province's socio-economic fields and the activities of the Provincial People's Council according to the session's agenda, which the Provincial People's Council delegates had just voted to approve. Simultaneously, the Provincial People's Council will supervise by reviewing and commenting on the report of the Provincial People's Council's Supervisory Delegation on the medium-term public investment plan using provincial budget funds and the list of key projects of the province for the period 2021-2025; and the supervisory report of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council on resolving voters' petitions. The Provincial People's Council also allocated sufficient time to conduct a question-and-answer session with members of the Provincial People's Committee on issues of concern to voters, the people, and Provincial People's Council delegates.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Hoai Anh stated that the 24th session of the 11th Provincial People's Council has many important contents, ensuring the development of the province for the remainder of 2024 and the following years. Therefore, he requested that the delegates of the Provincial People's Council uphold a high sense of responsibility and carefully study the contents presented at the session.
Based on the practical experiences of their respective sectors, fields, and localities, it is requested that provincial People's Council delegates actively participate in discussions, contributing many heartfelt and high-quality opinions, concise yet focused; conducting accurate and relevant questioning on issues of concern to voters, contributing to the overall success of the session, and meeting the expectations of voters and the people of the province.
