(BLC) - On the morning of September 25, the Department of Culture and Information of Than Uyen district opened a class to teach Thai ethnic writing in 2024.
Leaders of the Department of Culture and Information of Than Uyen district, leaders and 30 students of 2 communes: Muong Cang, Hua Na attended.
Accordingly, in 50 sessions, students will be introduced to the alphabet, taught how to read, write, transcribe, tones, Thai ethnic script, etc. At the same time, they will practice writing a report.
This is a practical activity contributing to the effective implementation of Resolution No. 33-NQ/TW dated June 9, 2014 of the Central Executive Committee of the Party (11th tenure) on "Building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of sustainable national development"; Resolution No. 04-NQ/TU dated February 17, 2021 of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Resolution No. 59/2021/NQ-HDND dated December 10, 2021 of the Provincial People's Council and Decision No. 562/QD-UBND dated May 17, 2021 on approving the Project "Preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups associated with tourism development in the period 2021 - 2025, with a vision to 2030 in Lai Chau province"; Resolution No. 02-NQ/HU, dated October 6, 2020 of the District Party Executive Committee "On promoting the fine traditional cultural identities of ethnic groups associated with community tourism in the period of 2020-2025" to build grassroots cultural life, contributing to improving the spiritual and cultural life of the people.

Through the class, the aim is to preserve, conserve and promote the cultural quintessence of ethnic minorities in Than Uyen district in general and the Thai ethnic group in particular; build a generation of young artisans, the core force to be the next force in preserving and restoring traditional cultural activities, preserving identity, especially the writing of the Thai ethnic group.
