April 30, 1975 is a brilliant milestone in the history of Vietnam, marking the completion of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country. The victory of our army and people in the resistance war against the US to save the country is the greatest achievement in the cause of national liberation and defense of the Fatherland led by the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh.
Particularly from the creative perspective of cinema art, the Great Victory of Spring 1975, culminating in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign to liberate Saigon, always brings a rich source of emotions to filmmakers.
Feature films and documentaries about the 30-year resistance war of our army and people, or the artistic perspectives of filmmakers on the context, people, and innovation and development of Ho Chi Minh City through many historical periods have added meaningful tones to the heroic epic of national unification that will forever be famous.
The exhibition has more than 300 selected and printed photos extracted from documents and film works archived at the Vietnam Film Institute, outlining historical moments from the 1968 Tet Offensive and Uprising to the Ho Chi Minh Campaign - Great Spring Victory 1975, as well as depicting the simple, modern beauty with the vibrant pace of life of Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City before and after the country's reunification on April 30, 1975, in cinema.
