Comrade Pham Van Nghiem, Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting.
According to the draft project, in the period of 2025 - 2030, the province will implement 4 key tasks: Building a stable system of training high- performance athletes; focusing on investing in training traditional sports, strong sports, sports in the national sports competition program, major sports events in Southeast Asia, Asia, internationally; developing a number of new sports with the potential to win medals at national sports festivals and SEA Games, Asiad; building annual targets of participating in 50 - 60 tournaments and winning 200 - 250 medals at national sports tournaments, participating in 5 - 7 tournaments and winning 8 - 10 medals at international sports tournaments. By 2045, the province will maintain a stable system of training high-performance athletes; make breakthroughs in dominating achievements in traditional sports, strong sports in the national arena; Thai Binh Sports Delegation is in the top 20 units with leading achievements nationwide at national sports festivals in the period 2030 - 2045.
To achieve these goals, the project has developed 9 groups of tasks and solutions, focusing on innovating the work of discovering, selecting and training sports talents; perfecting policy mechanisms and mobilizing resources to increase investment in serving the development of high-performance sports.
The project aims to orient the development of high-performance sports with a reasonable and effective roadmap; build mechanisms and policies to encourage, attract and train sports talents; mobilize resources to build modern physical education and sports infrastructure, meeting the requirements and tasks of developing physical education and sports, and at the same time creating a breakthrough in the development of high-performance sports in the province in the coming time.
Representatives of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism contributed comments at the meeting.
At the meeting, delegates from departments and branches discussed and contributed ideas on the work of discovering, nurturing and training sports athletes; investing in facilities and technical infrastructure to serve the training of some of the province's strong sports; building a mechanism of priority and adequate treatment for athletes participating in major sports competitions and events.
Concluding the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee agreed with the name of the project and requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to fully absorb the comments of the departments and branches, continue to research, review, edit the layout, supplement the legal basis and some contents to ensure that the project is coherent, closely follows the orientation and is linked to reality, and is convenient and effective when organizing and implementing it later. He requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to closely coordinate with relevant departments, branches and units to promptly complete the project and soon submit it to the competent authority for approval and promulgation.
