Recently, the Chinese aircraft manufacturer brought the C919 and ARJ21 to display and perform flights in Vietnam.

Two Chinese-made aircraft, the C919 and ARJ21, landed at Van Don airport.

C919 (blue tail) and ARJ21 (red tail) are two types of civil aircraft designed and manufactured by COMAC (China).

The C919 large passenger aircraft was developed and manufactured by China with intellectual property rights. To date, four aircraft have been delivered to its first customer, China Eastern Airlines.

The C919 large passenger aircraft is nearly 39 meters long with 192 seats. The aircraft is used on round-trip flights between Shanghai - Beijing and Shanghai - Chengdu, accumulating more than 2,600 safe flight hours, carrying more than 136,000 passengers and receiving positive reviews from customers.

The "domestic" mark of the C919 lies in the wings and tail of the aircraft with components manufactured in China. The C919 aircraft flew directly to Van Don after participating in the Singapore Airshow 2024 - the largest aviation exhibition in Asia. This aircraft will stay in Van Don for 4 days (February 26-29) before continuing to Da Nang , Ho Chi Minh City and Vientiane City (Laos).

Meanwhile, the ARJ21-700 is a twin-engine jet. Chinese airlines have used this jet on many domestic routes. The international customer of this aircraft is Indonesia, with one aircraft to be delivered in 2022.

The ARJ21 has a range of 2,225 km to 3,700 km. The aircraft can be configured with 78 to 97 seats, similar to the ATR72 and Embraer 190 aircraft in Vietnam. In addition, the ARJ21 can also be configured as a private jet to serve VIP customers.

According to the plan, with the permission of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (Vietnam Ministry of Transport ), C919 and ARJ21 aircraft will depart from Van Don International Airport, opening a series of aircraft demonstration events in 5 Southeast Asian countries.
