
Announcing a natural disaster emergency to repair damage on the Mimosa Pass road under the project to renovate and upgrade the section through Mimosa Pass and some works on National Highway 20, Lam Dong province
Accordingly, the scope of the project declared an emergency situation was affected by storm No. 13 and the post-storm circulation from November 18 to November 20, posing a direct threat to the safety of people and vehicles participating in road traffic.
The Ministry of Construction assigned the Department of Economics - Construction Investment Management to review and specifically determine the extent of damage to road works caused by natural disasters, repair and remedial solutions, and issue an Order to build emergency works to overcome the consequences of natural disasters according to regulations; coordinate with the specialized Department to advise competent authorities to consider allocating capital for implementation, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
Upon completion of the task, the Department of Economics - Construction Investment Management shall report to the Ministry of Construction as a basis for considering the announcement of the end of the natural disaster emergency situation.

The Director of Project Management Board 85 is responsible for the contents of the report on damage and deterioration of traffic infrastructure at Km 226+600 - Km 226+800 (design route Km 3+600 - Km 3+800) on Mimosa Pass.
The Department of Transport and Traffic Safety must urge and direct agencies and units in implementing the overcoming of consequences of natural disasters on road traffic infrastructure.

The roadbed broke and collapsed into a deep abyss, creating a hole about 50m wide, 30m deep and a slide nearly 100m long. Many trees were swept down the abyss, with rushing water below.
It is known that the project to renovate and upgrade the section through Mimosa Pass and some works on National Highway 20, Lam Dong province was approved for investment by the Ministry of Transport (now the Ministry of Construction) and approved for adjustment in 2022 and 2024, assigned to Project Management Board 85 as the investor.
The project includes items on Highway 20 and the nearly 11km long section through Mimosa Pass. To date, most of the items have been basically completed.
Due to the impact of storm No. 13, from November 18, 2025, the entire negative slope section from Km 226+600 - Km 226+800 (design route Km 3+600 - Km 3+800) sank and slid downstream. By November 20, 2025, the entire roadbed and surface were completely broken and collapsed, creating a hole about 15m deep and sliding about 50m towards the negative slope, completely cutting off the Mimosa Pass.
