On the evening of April 26, a series of cultural and sports activities with the theme of Uncle Ho's City continued to be held at Nguyen Hue walking street (HCMC), with many unique art performances by many artists, attracting a large number of viewers. This is a cultural and artistic program within the series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025). The event took place from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on April 19, 26, 29 and 30, held at locations such as in front of the headquarters of the People's Council and People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Nguyen Hue walking street area, Bach Dang wharf park area.
The event gathered most of the art units including: City Art Center, Bong Sen Folk Music, Dance and Singing Theater, City Opera House, City Culture and Exhibition Center, City Water Sports Center... with thousands of artisans, singers, artists, actors, dancers, athletes working in arts and sports in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to Thanh Nien , although the event started at 7:30 p.m., since the afternoon, a large number of people and tourists had flocked to Nguyen Hue walking street, looking for a good spot to watch the series of art programs. However, when the program was about to start, a sudden heavy rain came down, interrupting the activities. Thousands of spectators wore raincoats, held umbrellas, and even "braved in the rain" to wait.
Despite the heavy rain, the artists participating in the art program " The Scent of the South" by the Bong Sen Folk Music and Dance Theater still stepped onto the stage with the song "Song of the Southern Land". At this time, the audience also "braved the rain" to cheer and sing along to the melody of the song.
The singer wore a charming traditional Vietnamese costume and a conical hat, singing a sweet melody and receiving enthusiastic applause from the audience.
