On the same day, the Expo exhibition area – the opening activity of the season – also officially started, attracting a large number of athletes, visitors and sports lovers.
This year's season recorded 2,500 international athletes from nearly 70 countries, nearly double that of 2024. This number shows the stature and strong attraction of the largest international running race in Vietnam, while affirming the opportunity for the Vietnamese marathon to reach the world level.

Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hanh speaks at the opening ceremony of the Hanoi Heritage International Marathon
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Hanh - General Director of Standard Chartered Vietnam - said: "We are proud that the race has become an international event, connecting the community, spreading the spirit of sports and a healthy lifestyle. This is also a testament to the bank's commitment to sustainable development and social responsibility over the past century in Vietnam."
Prize of over 1 billion VND, AIMS international standard running track
The race will take place from 7 to 9 November 2025, with the official race day on 8 November for the 5 km (adult) and 2.1 km (child) distances; 9 November for the 42 km, 21 km and 10 km distances.
The Expo opens at 8:30 a.m. on November 7, lasting for 3 days, bringing together many major brands in the fields of sports, health care and beauty. Many interactive activities, gift programs and special experiences are organized, bringing a vibrant atmosphere for athletes, attendees and families on the weekend.
The allocation of distances over the two running days follows the direction of the state management agency, aiming to bring the best experience to athletes while limiting the impact on the lives of the capital's residents.

The opening ceremony of the tournament took place at Quan Ngua Sports Palace.
This year’s tournament has a total prize value of more than 1 billion VND, along with many valuable items from sponsors. The entire race course has been inspected, measured and technically calibrated by experts from the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) to meet international standards, ensuring safety and optimizing the experience for athletes.
In particular, the starting and finishing route at Quan Ngua Sports Palace with a route along West Lake is nearly 10 km long, flat and is considered one of the most beautiful routes in Hanoi. This promises to be an ideal location for athletes to set new records at the Hanoi Heritage Marathon 2025.
