In an interview with journalist Piers Morgan, C. Ronaldo said that coach Amorim will need “a miracle” to succeed at Man Utd. The 40-year-old superstar affirmed that some of the Red Devils’ current players are not good enough to wear the club’s shirt, and questioned the team’s operating structure.

This is not the first time CR7 has publicly criticized Man Utd. In 2022, also in an interview with Morgan, he spoke frankly about the internal turmoil at Old Trafford, a move that caused the two sides to "go their separate ways" not long after.
Speaking about this issue, coach Amorim, who was Ronaldo's teammate in the Portuguese national team, admitted that the club had made mistakes in the past but affirmed that the current leadership is trying to change.
“Of course, everyone knows Cristiano’s influence and what he says has weight, but the most important thing now is to focus on the future,” said the Portuguese coach.
We, as a club, have made many mistakes in the past and are trying to fix them. What we need to do is continue to improve the organization, the way we operate and the behavior and attitude of the players. We are on the right track and that is more important than repeating the past.”
Man Utd will visit Tottenham this weekend. This is the club's last match before the national team training camp in mid-November.
Tottenham are in impressive form, unbeaten in their last seven matches against Man Utd, winning all four of their encounters last season, including the Europa League final last season, ending their worst season in 51 years.

However, coach Amorim believes his team have improved significantly: "Many of the players (from the team that lost to Tottenham) are still here but now we play better, understand the game better and are more confident. We have learned to control the tempo, know when to attack and when to be patient. Hopefully this time the result will be different."
Despite his optimism, coach Amorim admitted that defense is still Man Utd's biggest weakness. After 10 rounds of the Premier League, the team has conceded 16 goals and kept only one clean sheet.
The coach born in 1985 added: “Yes, the defense is our real problem. If you look at the league at the moment, the top team (Arsenal) hardly concedes a goal. They can just need one chance to score and win because their defense is very solid. We need to aim for that standard.
We are improving every day. The important thing is to stay focused, forget about the past and keep moving forward.”
