Ban Ho Commune is one of the localities severely affected by the heavy and prolonged rains of storms No. 9 and No. 10. In particular, there are over 100 landslides in the area, greatly affecting the traffic system, including many villages, such as: Seo Trung Ho, Ta Trung Ho, Ma Quai Ho, Ban Toong... completely isolated.

Immediately after each natural disaster, the Commune People's Committee mobilized machinery and local forces to urgently handle landslides, serving the travel and goods transportation needs of the people.

At the same time, actively support people in isolated villages to have enough necessities and initially stabilize their lives.

Ban Ho Commune held an urgent meeting on the afternoon of October 5 to deploy a response plan for storm No. 11.

While continuing to mobilize local forces to overcome landslides occurring in the area, from October 4, the People's Committee of Ban Ho commune issued a document directing forces and villages in the area to proactively prepare plans to respond to heavy rains, risks of floods, inundation, flash floods, and landslides due to the impact of storm No. 11.

On October 5, although it was Sunday, Ban Ho commune still deployed forces to check all villages in the area, detect areas at risk of dangerous natural disasters, and mobilize 3 households to move out of the dangerous natural disaster area. The commune People's Committee also held an urgent meeting to proactively deploy measures to respond to the circulation of storm No. 11.

Mr. Pham Van Quang - Chairman of Ban Ho Commune People's Committee said: We are very worried about the forecast of storm No. 11, so we have deployed a review of all villages in the area, early detection of risks, and moving households in high-risk areas to safety.

At the same time, maintain a 24/7 force, make full use of the "4 on-site" motto, in which, taking people's strength as the main factor to minimize damage that natural disasters may cause in the area.

Similarly, in Phuc Khanh commune, on October 5, the People's Committee also held an urgent meeting to deploy response plans to storm No. 11, with the spirit of not being subjective or negligent.

The Commune People's Committee also directed forces to focus on checking high-risk areas, prepare forces and means, proactively evacuate people from dangerous areas, and ensure absolute safety for people and property.

At the same time, strengthen propaganda work, update the situation of storm No. 11 on fanpage, commune loudspeaker system and zalo groups of the village.

In particular, the commune has reviewed and proactively moved 128 households in areas at risk of dangerous natural disasters to safety.

Ms. Trinh Thi Duyen - Chairman of the People's Committee of Phuc Khanh Commune said: We require members of the Civil Defense Command Committee and village heads to uphold their sense of responsibility, regularly monitor weather developments, and be on duty 24/7 during the storm's impact; fully prepare rescue materials and equipment; organize propaganda and mobilize people to proactively prevent.

"It can be said that the entire local political system has been proactive and ready to deploy response plans, minimize damage caused by natural disasters, and ensure the safety of people's lives and property," said Ms. Duyen.

At the landslide point Km7+900, Provincial Road 162 in Van Ban commune - the area where the landslide occurred, stretching about 100 m, causing tens of thousands of cubic meters of rock and soil to fall down and completely bury the road surface - the road management unit is still actively mobilizing dozens of machines, organizing 2 non-stop construction teams to handle rock and soil with the goal of completely clearing this road as soon as possible.

Mr. Nguyen Van Loc, Construction Manager, said: The unit has tried its best to clear the road as soon as possible, but in reality, the more we excavate, the more rocks and soil pile up, making the construction very difficult. We are asking the company to increase machinery and equipment to be able to clear the road as soon as possible. The unit also built a plan to ensure safety during the construction period, especially when the circulation of storm No. 11 is approaching.

It can be seen that, despite suffering a lot of damage and trying to overcome the consequences of natural disasters, the localities in the northern region of the province are always proactive and promptly deploy response plans, ensuring the safety of people and property, contributing to minimizing the damage caused by natural disasters before the impact of storm No. 11.
