Spraying chemicals to prevent malaria-carrying mosquitoes in Khanh Vinh area.

To prevent the increase of new malaria cases, recently, Khanh Hoa CDC has coordinated with relevant units to fully distribute mosquito nets treated with chemicals to prevent malaria transmission to all people who often go to the forest or sleep in the fields. At the same time, spraying chemicals in areas with recorded cases or high risk. Khanh Hoa CDC has also provided Khanh Vinh Regional Medical Center with 1,500 tubes of mosquito repellent cream to distribute to people who often go to work, cut trees in the forest or sleep in the fields.

On the afternoon of November 11, Dr. Ton That Toan - Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa CDC said that since the beginning of October, new malaria cases have decreased compared to the previous months. However, in communes with many cases of the disease, the preventive medical force still advises people not to be subjective.

Specifically, people who return to residential areas from working in fields, forests, or forest edges need to declare to local health authorities to have their samples taken for testing. The best time to leave fields and forests is before 5 p.m., because after this time, malaria-carrying mosquitoes become more active.

The People's Committees of communes with malaria cases update the list of people who often go to forests and fields every week and send it to the Health Station to monitor and take samples for malaria parasite screening.

At the same time, continue to maintain propaganda for people to take measures to prevent and control malaria such as sleeping under chemically treated mosquito nets when going to the fields, complying with treatment when having malaria... on the commune's radio system with a frequency of 2 times/day.

Health workers take malaria test samples from people in high-risk areas.

According to Dr. Toan, malaria is a disease caused by the Plasmodium parasite, transmitted by Anopheles mosquitoes. Common symptoms include fever, headache, chills... The disease can be cured quickly if detected early, but if it progresses severely, it can cause dangerous complications. When there are suspicious symptoms, people need to go to the nearest medical facility for examination and testing.
