On the morning of November 23, Thanh Nien reporters noted that at schools in heavily flooded areas such as Tay Nha Trang Ward and Dien Khanh Commune ( Khanh Hoa ), many schools were still covered in mud, broken tables and chairs, and wet and damaged books and teaching equipment. The schools are coordinating with the military and police to clean up. However, many schools are not expected to be able to let students return to school for the next few days.

At Dien An 1 Primary School (Dien Khanh Commune), Principal Pham Dinh Trong said that the entire library, books, newspapers and administrative records on the ground floor were submerged and 100% damaged by floodwaters. Mr. Trong tearfully shared that the surrounding residential area was deeply flooded, and the school's students were left with almost nothing, with all their books, blackboard markers and clothes swept away. The school's boarding area was also heavily damaged and is in dire need of blankets, pillows, mats and dining tables and chairs to welcome students after the flood.

At Vinh Thanh Primary School (West Nha Trang Ward), Principal Pham Dinh Quang said that floodwaters rising up to 2 meters high had damaged all televisions, tables, chairs, and electronic equipment; nearly 100 meters of fence had collapsed. More than 1,335 students of the school had to stay home from school since November 17 and it was not yet possible to determine the date of their return.

At Vinh Trung Primary School (West Nha Trang Ward), 843 students had to stay home from school for a whole week. Mr. Than Tan Tam, Vice Principal in charge, said that many families had to climb onto their roofs to take refuge, and all their belongings were swept away by the floodwaters. Currently, the students are lacking books, pens, and uniforms.

On the afternoon of November 23, the Khanh Hoa Department of Education and Training requested schools to prioritize ensuring the safety of students and teachers; only allowing students to return to school when absolutely safe. Units need to increase mobilization of agencies, businesses, and philanthropists to support teaching equipment, textbooks, and school supplies.
Speaking to Thanh Nien newspaper, Mr. Ho Xuan Truong, Standing Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, said that the province has directed the Department of Education and Training to urgently review all damage to facilities. Local forces are closely coordinating with units of Naval Region 4 and Military Region 5 to carry out general cleaning and clear mud at flooded schools, and bring students back to school soon.
