Reward for helping find tourist's lost ring at the beach

On August 4, the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches unexpectedly rewarded two members of Working Group No. 2 - Beach Tourism Order Management Team for their good deed of finding lost items for tourists.

Accordingly, two members of Working Group No. 2, the Sea Tourism Order Management Team under the Management Board were awarded, team leader Phan Thanh Trinh and employee Pham Nhu Dong.

The incident happened on the evening of July 31, an Australian tourist accidentally dropped his engagement ring at Cua Dai beach (Hoi An Dong ward, Da Nang city). With the desire to help tourists find lost items, Mr. Phan Thanh Trinh and Mr. Pham Nhu Dong proactively contacted and brought specialized metal detectors to the beach area to search. After many hours of perseverance, Mr. Trinh and Mr. Dong discovered the ring deep under the sand, near the edge of the sea and returned it to the owner.

The Australian tourist was moved to tears when he received the ring. According to him, the ring is worth more than 2,000 USD (more than 52 million VND) and has special meaning to his family.

Previously, on July 25, Mr. Phan Thanh Trinh and his colleagues helped two other tourists find two lost Iphone 14Pro and Iphone 15 phones while swimming at My Khe beach, Da Nang city.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Vu, Head of the Management Board of Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches, said that after social networks posted many positive information about the good deeds of the brothers, the Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Da Nang City also commended and encouraged the responsible and humane working spirit of the Management Board's staff during their duties, and at the same time, the Department's leaders will have appropriate forms of rewards.

Searching for lost property on the beach is one of the regular tasks that the staff of the Beach Tourism Order Management Team and the Rescue Team do to support people and tourists during their duties.

In the first 6 months of 2025, the Sea Tourism Order Management Team had 31 cases of lost property found and returned to the owner. Among them, there were 11 cases of supporting foreign tourists and 1 case with property value over 60 million VND.
