Rewarding the man who saved more than 40 people in the flood

The People's Committee of Dak Lak province has just decided to award a certificate of merit to Mr. Tran Cong Thanh (born in 1975, residing in Phu Huu village, Hoa Thinh commune) for his brave action in saving more than 40 people during the unusual flood from November 18 to 22 in the province.

The decision, signed by Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dao My, stated that Mr. Thanh had made outstanding achievements, promptly saving people in life-threatening situations.

Previously, on November 19 and 20, floodwaters in Phu Huu village rose rapidly, forcing many households to break tiles and climb onto the roofs to call for help. In that situation, Mr. Thanh did not have time to move his family's belongings to higher ground, so he rowed a boat alone to each roof, bringing more than 40 people to take temporary shelter at a nearby two-story house.

Despite facing the rushing water and imminent danger, his sense of responsibility and compassion helped him overcome his fear to save people in the life-and-death moment. The timely commendation from the Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee is a worthy recognition of his noble deed.
