Each locality is doing well as an "instrument" in the Central Vietnam tourism symphony - where visitors not only come to see but also to experience and live with the heritage.

After the upheavals of COVID-19, global travel trends are clearly shifting from instant travel to long-term experiences, from superficial entertainment to finding oneself in the depths of consciousness.

Types of tourism such as meditation and slow living are gradually becoming favorite choices of many international tourists.

In that trend, Central Vietnam is emerging as an ideal destination with fresh natural space, many famous Buddhist temples, and heritages associated with the Eastern spirit.

This is a land very suitable for meditation journeys, spiritual tourism and mental healing. The tours "7 days of peace in Hue", "Meditation at My Son at dawn" or "Introspection route"... are being exploited by many units.

One notable pioneering idea is to shift from "labor export" to "living environment export."

Mr. Le Tan Thanh Tung, Deputy General Director of Vitraco Transport and Tourism Limited Company, proposed an idea: Instead of having to send workers to work in the Japanese market to take care of the elderly.

We can do the opposite, which is to invite Japanese seniors to travel long-term in Central Vietnam. With an environment and climate suitable for the elderly, the Central region will attract many tourists in this segment; at the same time, it will attract many other tourists who are the children and grandchildren of the elderly to visit, experience and live.

"Elderly Japanese people love nature, quiet and meditation. These are the inherent conditions of the Central region and with the investment in health service system, ecological space, low cost of living and rich cultural identity, the Central region can become a livable land of the region," Mr. Tung proposed.

What needs to be done is to expand the mechanism, be more flexible about time for tourists, and have a qualified workforce. The Central region is confident enough to bring to tourists around the world the values ​​of its homeland.

Connection center, departure point for Central Heritage experiences

Summer 2025 is predicted to be a truly vibrant summer for tourism in the Central region. With the leading advantage in sea tourism, the provinces and cities of Da Nang, Hue, and Quang Nam still consider summer sea tourism as the focus of development with great advantages.

Last year, My Khe Beach (Da Nang) was ranked by TripAdvisor as one of the Top 10 most beautiful beaches in Asia. Before that, Forbes Magazine voted My Khe as one of the 6 most attractive beaches on the planet.

In Quang Nam, An Bang beach was voted by CNN as one of the 50 most beautiful beaches on the planet; Cua Dai beach was voted one of the 25 most beautiful beaches in Asia (2023). Meanwhile, Lang Co Bay (Hue) was honored as one of the most beautiful bays in the world.

Da Nang tourism industry has proposed a scenario to attract more than 3.1 million visitors in the summer of 2025, including 1.2 million international visitors. In addition to the advantage of sea tourism, to diversify the experiences for tourists, Da Nang plans to open the Da Nang Museum at 42 Bach Dang, complete the upgrade of the Cham Sculpture Museum... Ba Na Hill tourist area has the ambition to set new records in the number of visitors and revenue in the summer with the Craft Beer Festival...

In Hue, with 26 sports, cultural and tourism events in the program "Summer Festival - Shining Imperial City" in the National Tourism Year 2025. It is expected that this summer in the ancient capital will also be very exciting.

With outstanding advantages in transportation infrastructure, from Da Nang International Airport - which has just opened new routes to Japan, Korea, Thailand and Europe to the highway system, central train station and Tien Sa seaport, Da Nang is becoming the "first gateway" for international and domestic visitors to the Central region.

From Da Nang, tourists can easily depart to Hoi An - My Son, Hue, Quang Tri - Quang Binh in just a few hours. But more importantly, Da Nang brings a sense of modernity, convenience, safety, and is the "first stop" for tourists to recharge their batteries, preparing to embark on a deeper journey of cultural and heritage discovery.

Earlier this April, travel companies Crystal Bay Tour and Rustar DMC Vietnam brought the first 300 passengers from Almaty (Kazakhstan) to Da Nang on a direct flight. Vietjet Air operates this route with A330/300 aircraft with a frequency of 4 flights per week until October 2025.

Of which, from Almaty there will be 2 flights per week on Tuesday and Friday and from Astana (Capital of Kazakhstan) there will be 2 flights per week on Wednesday and Saturday. Also on this occasion, Myanmar Airways International officially operates the route from Yangon (Myanmar) to Da Nang with a frequency of 2 flights per week on Wednesday and Saturday.

Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh said that the opening of a direct flight from Almaty (Kazakhstan) to Da Nang marks an important milestone in the tourism sector. Da Nang aims to exploit the tourist market of Kazakhstan in particular and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). This will contribute to promoting tourism in Da Nang and the entire Central region.

Da Nang International Airport has just been ranked 84th in the Top 100 best airports in the world by the International Airport Rating Organization (Skytrax) (up 10 places compared to 2024) and ranked 9th in the Top 10 best airports in Asia in 2025.

This is the second consecutive year that Da Nang International Airport has been included in this prestigious ranking. Da Nang Airport is one of the three busiest international airports in Vietnam after Noi Bai International Airport and Tan Son Nhat International Airport.

Currently, Da Nang International Airport has connected 8 domestic routes to and from Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Nha Trang, Buon Ma Thuot, Hai Phong, Can Tho, Da Lat, Phu Quoc with an average frequency of 59 flights/day.

Before opening 3 new routes to and from Kazakhstan and Myanmar, Da Nang International Airport had 15 regular international routes connecting to the cities of Bangkok (Thailand), Singapore, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Taipei-Kaohsiung (Taiwan-China), Macau (China), Hong Kong (China), Siem Reap (Cambodia), Incheon - Busan - Daegu - Cheongju (Korea), Narita (Japan), Manila (Philippines), Ahmedabad (India) with an average frequency of 53 flights/day.

With the development orientation of diversifying the international market, Da Nang hopes to continue expanding its international flight network, connecting Da Nang with destinations around the world.
