Adapting to the times, over 50 years old, Ms. Nguyen Thi Tho, in charge of business at Minh Dung Coffee Trading Company Limited (Quang Phu town, Cu M'gar district) persistently learns how to approach technology to sell products. On social media platforms, she diligently posts creative content, actual videos of roasting and grinding, and the traditional wood-roasted coffee processing process to attract the attention and understanding of consumers.

According to Ms. Tho, technology is not only for young people, if they are willing to learn, "old people" like her can still do well. She works and learns from experience, so she will improve every day. Currently, the wood-roasted coffee product of the Tho Dung coffee brand has reached customers, sold on platforms such as Facebook, Zalo, TikTok, Lazada, Shopee...

Ms. Nguyen Thi Tho, in charge of business at Minh Dung Coffee Trading Company Limited, livestreams sales on a technology platform.

On average, Ms. Tho sells about a few dozen wholesale and retail orders in each livestream. Customers put their trust in the "real goods, real people" products, helping her sell more products. Not only does it help increase sales in commercial activities, applying digital technology in business also brings many practical benefits to Ms. Tho. "More importantly, it helps me achieve initial success in building an image, creating a brand for Tho Dung wood-roasted coffee and increasing my reputation with customers," said Ms. Tho.

Making video clips of the roasting and grinding stages is a way for customers to trust and learn more about the origin and responsibility of the seller for the product and "tell" the story of coffee culture behind each different taste in the coffee capital. From there, they gain more knowledge and increase their trust in the product.

Not only for businesses, many farmers in Dak Lak also take advantage of the power of technology to access science and technology, enriching their knowledge for smart farming.

Taking care of more than 2 hectares of coffee mixed with pepper, whenever the plants get sick, Mr. Nguyen Van Hien (Ea Bong commune, Krong Ana district) goes to the “doctor” farmer online. He installs the “2 farmers” app, the “Vietnamese farmers” app to monitor the growth process of the plants, access scientists remotely to ask questions, consult on agricultural knowledge, look up information about association activities and farmers’ movements.

Mr. Hien shared that in the past, every time his plants got sick, he was worried and didn't know who to ask or how to handle it, so he just rushed to the pesticide store to buy some types to spray. But now, farming is smarter and more methodical thanks to the support of technology. Through that, it has helped him optimize the farming process, save costs, and increase production efficiency. Mr. Hien is also learning how to put agricultural products on sale at the Dak Lak Agricultural Products Market online at the e-commerce site chonongsandaklak.vn with the hope of finding a better outlet and price for the agricultural products he produces. However, according to Mr. Hien, knowledge on the internet is endless, users must learn carefully and choose to install apps and digital platforms with reputable and trustworthy content to access.

Support Dak Lak farmers to install the "2 farmers" application for smart agricultural cultivation.

Digital transformation has been promoted, seemingly unfamiliar technologies have now reached farmers, businesses, and enterprises in many localities in the province. This has brought about many great changes.

To serve digital transformation activities, telecommunications enterprises in the province have deployed fiber optic internet lines to 100% of households. By December 2024, the whole province had 61,100 fiber optic cables; 100% of communes had mobile coverage. Total mobile and fixed phone subscribers reached over 2 million subscribers; internet subscribers (fiber optic, 4G, 5G mobile) reached over 1.7 million subscribers; mobile coverage on the population was 100%, the number of adults with smartphones was over 1.4 million subscribers; 400,492 households had someone with a smartphone; the rate of households with computers reached over 80%; the adult population with digital signatures or personal electronic signatures was 42,100 people; 100% of banks in the area have provided financial services - electronic banking to the people.

The development of the digital economy has completely changed the traditional awareness and way of doing things of people and households about consuming products in digital space and e-commerce platforms, expanding the product consumption space from being limited within the locality, within the district, within the province to outside the province and nationwide.

Digital transformation is inevitable, in which technology is the luggage to change, gradually transform the way of living, working and production methods based on digital platforms. This is not only a convenient "path" but also an opportunity, if anyone is quick to catch up with the trend, they will succeed.

By the end of 2024, Dak Lak province will have 1,715 products on e-commerce platforms, 42,933 transactions on e-commerce platforms, ranking 5th nationwide; 259,652 agricultural production households will be trained in digital skills, reaching 43%.
