Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Quynh Thien said that Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee Base was formed in the early years of the resistance war against American imperialism to save the country, where the Provincial Party Committee led and directed the revolutionary movement in the whole province. Here, many important decisions were made, contributing to the orientation of the political struggle movement, combined with the armed struggle, creating important victories, laying the foundation for great victories in the resistance war for independence and freedom for the country and people.
The Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee Base is also a vivid testament to the close relationship between the Party and the people. The people have nurtured and protected cadres and soldiers, together overcoming countless difficulties and hardships, forging the tradition of "loyalty, steadfastness, attachment to the land and people" of the Party and the army and people of Tra Vinh.
Today, Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee Base has become a "red address" of great value in terms of history, culture and revolutionary tradition education. The investment in renovating and embellishing the base relic not only meets the requirements of serving political tasks, but also the wishes and aspirations of the Party Committee, government and people of the province; at the same time, it is an important condition to serve research, study and patriotic tradition education for generations, especially the young generation. The project carries a deep sense of gratitude to the previous generations of fathers and brothers, adding motivation for the present and future generations to continue to strive to build the homeland to be more and more prosperous and civilized.
The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Vinh Long province requested that the Management Board of Civil and Industrial Projects of Vinh Long province should closely and resolutely urge and inspect the construction units; closely coordinate with departments, branches, sectors and local authorities to promptly remove difficulties and obstacles in the implementation process. Along with that, the construction contractor mobilizes maximum human resources, machinery, equipment and materials, organizes continuous construction to speed up progress; strictly complies with the requirements on construction quality, labor safety, fire prevention and fighting and ensures no impact on the lives and activities of people in the area.
The project to renovate and embellish the Tra Vinh Provincial Party Committee Base relic is built on an area of 10.2 hectares, in Giong Gieng hamlet, Duyen Hai ward, Vinh Long province. The total investment of the project is 140 billion VND, divided into 2 phases. Phase 1 includes the following items: construction of the relic site gate, guardhouse, relic nameplate, hall, bomb shelter... Construction time of phase 1 is 360 days, costing more than 22 billion VND. Phase 2 includes the main items: construction of a memorial display house, management house, service counter, boat dock, food service area, historical reliefs, ceremonial yard in the area...
