Ho Chi Minh City University of Theater and Cinema has just launched the "Elegant Student 2025-2026" Contest, the opening activity for a series of events celebrating the school's 50th anniversary (1976-2026).

The contest, with the theme "Beauty and talent - Youthful imprint", aims to honor the image of art students in the new era - dynamic, creative, and rich in cultural identity.

Elegant students, cultural and artistic playground of the young generation

First held in 2005, the Elegant Student Competition has become a traditional activity, contributing to shaping the style and personality of art school students.

Over the past 20 years, this playground has not only been a place to find representatives of beauty, intelligence and talent, but also an opportunity for students to practice performance skills, behavior and demonstrate professional artistry.

Meritorious Artist Le Nguyen Dat - Chairman of the Council of the University of Theatre and Cinema, Ho Chi Minh City said that the students were very excited to participate because this was a place for them to perform performances that they themselves created and practiced.

The tradition of the University of Theatre and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City is to create all conditions for young people to develop their talents and assert themselves in community competitions, raising awareness of physical training and creative spirit to study well.

This year, the competition was organized in a more professional and modern way, with many competitions featuring artistic elements - true to the spirit of the school training people working in the theater and cinema profession.

According to the Organizing Committee, the contest also aims to spread cultural and aesthetic values in the school environment, contributing to building a cultural lifestyle and creative spirit for students.

The journey to find the "Beauty Queen - King" of art school

Contestants are students aged 18 to 27, with good moral character, standard behavior and currently studying at the school. The contest consists of three rounds: Preliminary - Semi-final - Final, taking place from November 2025 to January 2026, expected to attract more than 100 students to register to participate.

The contest sections are richly designed, including: • Self-introduction and catwalk performance;

• Talent competition and themed costume show;

• National costume, evening gown and behavioral contest.

The Final Night will take place on January 8, 2026 at the stage of the University of Theatre and Cinema, Ho Chi Minh City, promising to be a shining night of beauty, talent and spirit of art students. Honoring the spirit of creativity and cultural responsibility.

Dr. Pham Huy Quang, Acting Principal of the School, shared: "Students of the School of Theatre and Cinema not only learn a profession, but also learn how to become artists responsible for culture. The competition is a place for them to show the image of a dynamic and creative young generation."

The Organizing Committee will award the Miss - King, Miss - Runner-up and many subsidiary awards such as Talented Contestant, Best Behavior, Most Favorite Contestant.

Total prize value is expected to be up to 40 million VND

Spreading values and connecting the creative community Besides the meaning of honoring students, the contest is also an opportunity to connect schools, students and accompanying units, creating an environment to support and encourage young talents, contributing to building quality human resources for the theater and cinema industry in the integration period.
