Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Son, Deputy Director of the Department of Construction, said: “The difference in the urban development orientation of Bac Ninh is the proactiveness and long-term vision. The province not only focuses on planning the central area but also expands the development space to suburban areas, riverside areas, connecting urban areas with industry, trade - services, and eco -tourism . This has created a strong attraction for strategic investors.”
Thanks to synchronous planning, many new modern urban areas have been formed in the province. Notably, the Hong Hac - Xuan Lam Ecological Urban Area (Song Lieu Ward). The urban area has a total area of over 198 hectares, an investment capital of about 27 trillion VND, providing more than 2,800 houses. This place is planned to become a green, environmentally friendly urban complex with many parks, trees, lakes, and a construction density of only 28%. Currently, the investor is completing the technical infrastructure system, opening the first phase for sale and preparing investment procedures for social housing projects and public welfare projects to serve residents inside and outside the project... The Da Mai - Song Mai 2 urban area project (Da Mai Ward) has an area of 43.9 hectares with nearly 1,000 residential plots, meeting the population of about 6,200 people. The project, which will start construction in February 2025, is expected to accelerate the urbanization of the locality and surrounding areas. According to the plan, the project will be invested synchronously in technical infrastructure, social infrastructure and functional areas in the direction of a green - smart urban area...
Along with the planning, the province also focuses on investing in technical infrastructure and social infrastructure. The main traffic system and inter-regional connecting routes have been upgraded and expanded to meet the needs of urban and industrial development. In addition, social infrastructure such as schools, hospitals, shopping centers, parks, etc. have also been built, helping to improve the quality of life. Seizing the opportunity, many reputable investors have come to Bac Ninh. In a short time, the province has selected investors for a series of large urban areas such as: New urban area in the Northwest of Kinh Bac ward (area 1), with an area of about 277 hectares and a total capital of about 41,270 billion VND implemented by a consortium of Vingroup and partner enterprises; New urban area, tourism, ecology, culture, resort, entertainment in Tam Son ward (Sub-area 112.3), with an area of nearly 200 hectares implemented by Tay Bac Investment Limited Company; The new urban area, tourism, ecology, culture, resort, entertainment of Tien Du commune, with a scale of nearly 300 hectares, implemented by Tay Ha Noi Investment Limited Company; The new urban area of Nham Bien mountain golf course in Tien Phong ward, with an area of 134 hectares, invested by Thai Son Construction Investment Joint Stock Company... These projects not only create a modern urban appearance but also form resort, entertainment services, promoting green economy.
Recently, in August 2025, the Provincial People's Committee approved the investment policy of the Ecological Urban Area and Sports Project under the Khuon Than Urban, Ecological Tourism and Sports Area Sub-Zone Planning (Sub-Zone B) of Kien Lao Commune with an area of over 286 hectares. The project is expected to create a new civilized, modern, ecological and smart urban area, contributing to the formation of a synchronous urban infrastructure system for Bac Ninh province, meeting the requirements of socio-economic development.
To urge the progress of projects, the Provincial People's Committee organized many conferences to remove obstacles in site clearance. Here, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan affirmed that removing obstacles helps projects to be implemented on schedule, thereby creating a strong driving force for Bac Ninh to expand urban space in areas assessed to have great potential in terms of land fund, landscape and traffic connection. In particular, when ecological urban areas, resort tourism, service - trade are formed, Bac Ninh will have new growth areas, balanced with traditional development axes. "We cannot just stop at planning. Bac Ninh must turn the planning into reality, with civilized, modern urban areas, synchronous infrastructure, environmentally friendly. This is the measure of the government's prestige and also the legitimate desire of the people" - Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan emphasized.
Large urban projects not only create a new look for the province but also act as a driving force to promote socio-economic development, improve people's lives, and affirm Bac Ninh's position in the capital region and the whole country.
