The film week in Bac Ninh is a practical activity responding to the Film Festival, enhancing cultural and artistic exchanges and promoting tourism through cinema; improving the spiritual and cultural life of the people, contributing to spreading patriotism, showing gratitude to previous generations and promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam. At the same time, educating the young generation to be responsible, continuing the heroic tradition of their fathers; uniting, being creative, joining hands to build the homeland of Bac Ninh to become more and more beautiful and civilized.

At the opening ceremony, the Organizing Committee and sponsors presented gifts to war invalids, sick soldiers, families of policy beneficiaries, and people affected by Agent Orange, demonstrating the morality of "remembering the source of water when drinking" to show gratitude to those who have contributed. Immediately after, the audience enjoyed the film "Red Rain" produced by Military Cinema. The film was adapted from the novel of the same name by writer Chu Lai, recreating the event of 81 days and nights of fighting to protect Quang Tri Citadel in 1972.
The film was released and attracted attention when it was premiered on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, becoming the film holding the record for the highest-grossing Vietnamese film ever. The film brought genuine and touching emotions to the audience in Bac Ninh, especially to the wounded, sick soldiers, and veterans who fought in the Southern battlefield and Quang Tri Citadel.

As planned, on the morning and afternoon of November 15, the Bac Ninh Provincial Culture and Exhibition Center will continue to screen the film “Red Rain” for free to serve the people. From November 14 to 20, the Provincial Culture and Tourism Promotion Center will organize mobile film screenings in villages, hamlets, and residential groups in the province.
Some outstanding cinematographic works, vividly reflecting the glorious revolutionary struggle of the nation, the cause of innovation, construction and protection of the Fatherland, were screened on this occasion: "Peach, Pho and Piano", "The Scent of Burning Grass", "The Returning Person", "The Legend of Quan Tien", "The 17th Parallel: Days and Nights", "Hanoi 12 Days and Nights", "I See Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass", "The Ringed Bird", "August Star", "The Prophet"...
