The suspect Nguyen The Anh confessed to the crime at the police station.

The arrested suspect is Nguyen The Anh (born in 1988, residing in My Phu village, Phong Dinh ward). According to initial investigations, taking advantage of his acquaintance with the victim, Nguyen The Anh provided false information about submitting documents for the division of assets after divorce, specifically a house on Hai Trieu street (An Cuu ward), and undergoing procedures to subdivide land in Phong Dinh ward. He repeatedly borrowed money from the victim and subsequently embezzled it.

Furthermore, Nguyen The Anh also provided false information about having connections with officials working in the city's education sector, claiming he could secure admission for the victim's child to a local junior high school, thereby further defrauding the victim of over 1 billion VND. The stolen money was spent entirely on personal expenses.

The police are currently continuing to gather evidence to take strict action in accordance with the law.
