Prosecution and temporary detention of female Deputy Director of Ha Giang Department of Finance

Having committed violations causing especially large losses, Deputy Director of the Department of Finance of Ha Giang province Phung Thi Hoa and former Deputy Director of the Departmentof Education and Training of the province Pham Van Khuong were prosecuted.

On the afternoon of July 2, news from the Ha Giang Provincial Police said that the Investigation Police Agency had prosecuted and temporarily detained for 4 months Ms. Phung Thi Hoa (56 years old, Deputy Director of the Department of Finance of Ha Giang Province), Pham Van Khuong (65 years old, former Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ha Giang Province) and Nguyen Thi Kim Tuyen (52 years old, Deputy Head of the Department of Continuing Education - Ethnic Education of the Department of Education and Training of Ha Giang Province), all for the crime of Lack of responsibility causing serious consequences.

The investigation agency read the arrest warrant for the defendant Phung Thi Hoa.

The defendants were prosecuted and temporarily detained for their irresponsible behavior in the process of implementing the tasks of the target program on education in mountainous areas, ethnic minority areas, and disadvantaged areas in the period 2016 - 2021. The defendants' wrongdoings caused an especially large amount of damage to the State budget.

This is the result of an expanded investigation into a case of violations of bidding regulations causing serious consequences occurring at the Department of Education and Training of Ha Giang province.

Ha Giang Provincial Police also prosecuted and temporarily detained Mr. Vu Van Su (65 years old, former Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ha Giang Province) and Tran Tien Bang (58 years old, former Deputy Head of the Financial Planning Department of the Department of Education and Training of Ha Giang Province) to investigate the act of violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences.

Previously, in December 2023, Ha Giang Provincial Police issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused, and temporarily detain Ms. Vu Thi Thanh Huyen (54 years old, former Head of the Financial Planning Department of the Department of Education and Training of Ha Giang province) and Ms. Vu Thi Thu Hoa (53 years old, former accountant, Department of Education and Training of Ha Giang province) for violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences.
